Recon Launches GMC Hummer EV AWD Ebike

GMC Hummer EV enthusiasts who enjoy hitting the dirt on two wheels just as much as four may be interested in the new GMC Hummer EV All-Wheel Drive Ebike from Recon Power Bikes, which offers both substantial all-electric muscle, as well as two-wheel grip on demand.

Recon Power Bikes is producing the new “Super Ebike” under a global licensing agreement with GM, making it the perfect complement to the GMC Hummer EV.

“GMC is excited to collaborate with Recon as they develop the GMC Hummer EV AWD Ebike,” said marketing director for GMC, Rich Latek. “With design cues and inspiration taken directly from the GMC Hummer EV Supertruck, this Ebike further expands customer’s ability to explore different off-road trails – whether in the vehicle or out on the bike.”

Specs for the new Ebike include twin 750-watt hub motors, with output rated at a maximum of 2,400 watts. The onboard LG battery is rated at a standard 48 volts and 17Ah, although Recon is also offering an optional 21Ah upgrade for those that need a little extra juice. The company says the bike was “built for total off-road dominance,” and as such, it incorporates three riding modes – Cruise, which is rear-wheel drive only, Traction, which is front-wheel drive only, and finally Adrenaline, which runs both the front wheel and rear wheel for maximum all-wheel drive grip.

Further specs and features include torque vectoring capabilities, four-piston hydraulic brakes, Shimano gearing, front suspension, puncture resistant 4-inch tires, and more than 160 nM (118 pound-feet) of torque.

The new GMC Hummer EV All-Wheel Drive EBike starts at $3,999, and is available at GMC dealers worldwide, and at GMCEbike.com. To note, Recon Power Bikes provides bikes for law enforcement and three branches of the U.S. Military as well.

As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV is equipped with GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium drive motor technology, and rides on the GM BT1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

  1. Forgot a couple of the most important details… the bike’s range and speed, which are 40-50 mile range in rear-wheel drive, and 20-30+ MPH. The BIke is also available to order direct from Recon. Poor journalism!
