GM has unveiled the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD, debuting fresh exterior styling, a new interior, a revised trim level lineup, powertrain updates, and more.
The latest 2024-model-year refresh is highlighted by the arrival of the premium 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate and GMC Sierra HD AT4X off-roader. Denali Ultimate models are characterized by Vader chrome exterior bits, 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels, and an Alpine Umber interior.
Outside, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD boasts a new exterior design that includes revisions to the front bumper, fascia, and grille, as well as six new exterior colors, with Titanium Rush Metallic, Sterling Metallic, Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Redwood Metallic, Meteorite Metallic, and Downpour Metallic joining the options list.
Inside, we find a unique interior treatment for SLE and SLT trim levels, as well as a premium interior design for AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trim levels. A wide variety of available trailering assistance tech can be had via the GMC ProGrade trailering system.
Speaking of trailering, max towing figures are rated 21,900 pounds for 2500HD Crew Cab models, 22,500 pounds for 2500HD, and 36,000 pounds for 3500HD.
Under the hood, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD is once again offered with the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is now uprated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, as compared to the 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque produced prior to this latest refresh. Standard spec is the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, once again rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission, replacing the GM six-speed automatic transmission equipped by gasoline-powered Sierra HD models prior.
The refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive in dealers in Q1 of the 2023 calendar year. The new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X will launch later in 2024. Official pricing details are expected closer to the start of production.
