GM just pulled the sheets on the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax, unveiling a fresh generation for The General’s entry-level crossover.
Outside, the 2024 Chevy Trax incorporates Chevrolet’s latest ICE-based design language, taking after the Chevy Blazer crossover. The latest Trax also boasts new exterior dimensions that are longer, lower, and wider than the preceding model.
Up front is a set of LED headlamps, while the five trim levels on offer (LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ) each include their own unique styling bits, from wheels to grille treatments. Wheel sizing ranges between 17, 18, and 19 inches in diameter.
Inside, the 2024 Chevy Trax is roomier than the preceding model, measuring in with an extra 3 inches of rear legroom and a 12-percent increase in cargo capacity. The new Trax also offers more safety features and tech, including six advanced safety and driver awareness technologies via Chevy Safety Assist, and a standard 8-inch diagonal infotainment screen. LT, 2RS, and Activ trims get an 11-inch screen. Further onboard tech includes Active Noise Cancelation and cruise control, while Adaptive Cruise Control is offered on most trims.
As for the power spec, the 2024 Chevy Trax is motivated by the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, the same powerplant found in the Chevy Trailblazer LS and LT trim levels. Output is rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 Chevy Trax pairs the 1.2L I3 LIH engine to the GM six-speed automatic transmission, feeding the front wheels exclusively. All-wheel drive is not offered. Under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Trax rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set.
Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Trax starts at $21,495, destination freight charge included. Notably, the 2024 Chevy Trax costs less than a 2022 Chevy Trax.

Also notable is just how similar the 2024 Chevy Trax is to the 2023 Chevy Seeker recently introduced in China, confirming previous GM Authority reports that the new Chevy Seeker is coming to North America after all.
The 2024 Chevy Trax is set to go on sale in the spring of the 2023 calendar year.
