The 2023 Cadillac XT6 debuts the fourth model year of the first-gen crossover, ushering in a handful of small updates and changes compared to the 2022 model year. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2023 Cadillac XT6 towing capacities in the following GM Authority spec breakdown.
Before we get to the towing specs, let’s start by briefly going over the engine and drivetrain. Under the hood, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 is available with two powerplant options, starting with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 235 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Customers can also elect for the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower at 6,700 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. Both engine options connect to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available to put the power to the pavement.
It’s also worth mentioning that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 is offered with the optional Smart Towing Package, which increases the crossover’s max trailer weight rating. Tagged with RPO code V92, the Smart Towing Package includes the Hitch Guidance system (RPO code CTT), Hitch Guidance with Hitch View (RPO code PZ8), a hitch, a hitch cover, and a seven-wire harness. When added to Premium Luxury trim levels, the package also includes a 170-amp alternator (RPO code KW7) and heavy-duty cooling system (RPO code V08), both of which are included as standard for Cadillac XT6 Sport models.

As we can see, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 towing capacities are evenly split between models equipped with the optional Smart Towing Package, and those without it. Models equipped with the package offer a max trailer weight rating of 4,000 pounds, while those without it offer a max trailer weight rating of 1,000 pounds.
