The 2022 GMC Sierra HD is the third model year of the all-new fourth-generation model, which was introduced for the 2020 model year, receiving minor changes and updates for the 2022 model year. Two engines are offered, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8TÂ and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbo-diesel Duramax.
The 2023 GMC Sierra HD is the heavy-duty pickup truck’s final model year before the introduction of a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, receiving minor changes and updates over the previous year. Base price of the nameplate for 2023 increases by $1,000 across the board over the outgoing 2022 model.
This month GM unveiled the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD, debuting fresh exterior styling, a new interior, a revised trim level lineup, powertrain updates, and more. The refresh is highlighted by the arrival of the premium 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate and “seriously off-road capable” 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X. The Sierra HD Denali Ultimate trim is characterized by Vader chrome exterior bits, 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels, and an Alpine Umber interior. The new GMC Sierra HD AT4X will be an even-more-capable off-road version of the current GMC Sierra HD AT4 and is set to launch later next year following the arrival of the first 2024 GMC Sierra HD units in early 2023.
Production of the 2023 GMC Sierra HD started at the GM Flint plant in Michigan on July 18th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Sierra HD.
