The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 features front end design changes and a new cabin offered on all but the Pro model. Note, that for 2022, the former “Sierra” base model is now the Pro model. Besides the all-new interior, perhaps the biggest news for 2022 was the announcement of the new range-topping 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate and introduction of the all-new 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X. As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited was a stop-gap measure till the refreshed model could be built, and even introduced a few changes of its own over the 2021 models.

In addition, a mandatory three-year OnStar and Connected Services plan has been added to all Sierra trim levels, its price ranging from $905 to $1,500.

The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces only a handful of changes and updates as compared to the full model refresh introduced for the 2022 model year. One of those includes availability of a new Graphite Edition package on the base Sierra Pro. The big news for 2023 is the debut of the first-ever 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition, which promises to push the capability of the new go-anywhere AT4X trim level to new heights. Simply put, the 2023 Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition is the most off-road capable factory Sierra 1500 ever, developed with input from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) like on the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and first-ever 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison.

Later on in the 2023 model year, the “standard” 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X will receive new equipment from the AEV Edition. Also for 2023, the price increased by $1,000 over the 2022 on every trim level except for the Denali Ultimate and AT4, which have received respective price increases of $900 and $1,900.

Production of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 kicked off at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana on August 20th, 2022, and at the GM Silao plant in Mexico on August 29th, 2022, for both Regular Cab and Crew Cab models, and on September 6th, 2022, for Double Cab models. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Sierra 1500.

  1. Is this a cruel joke? Where are these trucks for sale? And good luck finding a dealer to sell one without a markup.

    1. Haha, just realized in the fine print that the rebate is only for the 4 bangers they can’t sell. Just remember if you go for the rebate and buy one of these, you should plan on keeping it a long time because it will not have any resale value either.

      1. I ordered one last November and I’m still waiting for it. Heck. I’d like to hear something about it. Haven’t heard anything at all.

        1. I ordered one November 2021 as well. Same story for months………congrats! it’s produced, leaving one spot in IL and headed to another spot in IL…………just not to Alabama where I live! BS!

    2. The only vehicles at my gm dealer are customer cars getting serviced lol. But you can pay for one that you might or might not get, or pay for options that you get fake buttons for instead. And once you pay out the ass for a new truck with fake buttons, they neglect to tell me when I’ll see the new buttons that I’ve payed for 8 mos ago. Boy I feel valued.

  2. Why can’t I get my 2022 or 2023 Sierra Denali Ultimate? I ordered last February. Still nothing. Does anyone know what is going on regarding this truck? Very frustrating.

    1. Your dealer has to be allocated a truck from GM to build, then they have to actually build the truck. I wanted a new at4x and they couldn’t promise me that month’s incentive of 0% interest for 72 months because they didn’t know when they would be allocated a truck slot. Apparently your dealer isn’t very high on the priority list. Unfortunate circumstances.

  3. That $1500 is on every window sticker with the 4T and is available 24/7/365 days a year so why even mention it GMA.

  4. So there’s rebates on trucks that you can’t buy and when the time comes that you can buy they hike up the price again. So I’m fact there’s no rebate on trucks cause you can’t rebate a truck you can’t buy. Make it make sense.

  5. I’m waiting on a 2022 GMC Sierra that I placed an order for in February 2022. The last update I received in September was “waiting on parts”. My guess is computer chips. GM offers all these discounts and delivery must be taken by a certain date. How can anyone get a discount when you can’t take delivery? Based on the article 2023 models are now being built. When will awaiting customers see their 2022 models? Will I get my 2023 Sierra in 2022 or not at all? Please someone at GM Corporation help this to make sense. I surely don’t understand your program.

  6. I’m still waiting for GM to make good for the options I’ve payed for back in February. Spent 100K on a truck that still doesn’t have functioning heated/cooled seats/wheel. No letters apologizing informing me of anything. Pretty poor. But they got paid right? So why would they care. Enough of the chip shortage BS. The $250 that got knocked off doesn’t cut it. That’s the price of a plastic change tray for the console these days. Make good on your sale please. I did my part.
