The 2022 GMC Savana represents the 19th model year of the nameplate. The full-size passenger and cargo vans both ride on the GM GMT 610 platform and offer identical powertrain options, which include the 4.3L V6 LV1 and 6.6L V8 L8T V8 gasoline engines along with the 2.8L I4 LWN turbo-diesel Duramax engine.
For the 2023 model year, the Savana and its corporate twin, the Chevy Express, will continue with minimal changes, although both will drop the optional turbo-diesel. Production of the 2023 Savana and Express began at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri on August 15th. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Savana.
The 2023 GMC Savana also gets a substantial price increase over the 2022 model. For the 20th model year for the workhorse van, this price hike is applied across the board in terms of body configuration and powertrain, and includes a $100 increase to the destination freight charge (DFC), which is now up to $1,795 from $1,695.
The Savana and Express will likely be put to pasture at the end of the 2025 model year with all-electric replacements rumored for a 2026 debut.

Is is the 6.6 engine being made yet or are their problems? I put a deposit down for a order for a 2023 cargo 6.6 v8 about a month ago and they said production is on hold right now for van being belt cause they are not making 6.6 v8 engine yet! Please let me know what’s going on.
I tried to order the 6.6l back in August and was told the 6.6 is not happening. The only way I could get the order in was to order the 4.3l. I still haven’t heard anything of when they are actually going to start production of the 2023. It’s frustrating because there have been no announcements of this issue.
I as well am waiting to order a Savana Extended one ton with a 6.6. My GMC dealer is very honest and I know the salesman personally. I don’t believe your guys trucks were even able to be ordered. I’ve been trying since Oct 1. The online ordering portal is operational but the salesman is unable to select the 6.6 option. Only the V6. It’s very frustrating I have 46k I can’t even give away. The only use full information I was able to find was from Chevrolet Marketing who told me the constraints on the 6.6 will be lifted about Dec 1st. Chevrolet was going to discontinue the Express but than they decided to run it for the 2023 model. You can’t even build one online the build tool isn’t even online yet. If you guys here something let me know .
Thanks, Keith
