GM Releases Fix For Inoperative Chevy Equinox Front Camera Module

GM has released a service update for certain units of the 2022 Chevy Equinox over an issue related to the compact crossover’s Front Camera Module.

The problem: units of the Chevy Equinox affected by this issue may have a condition where the Front Camera Module (FCM) becomes unresponsive and generates a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).

The hazards: the issue does not pose a safety hazard but it may affect convenience, as the front camera could be inoperable.

The fix: GM technicians are instructed to reprogram the Front Camera Module (FCM) with the latest software to correct the issue.

Affected components: Front Camera Module (FCM).

Affected vehicles: 2022 Chevy Equinox.

As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Equinox is available with just one engine option, specifically the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine. Peak output is rated at 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm, all of which is sent through the GM six-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin is the GM D2 platform, with production taking place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant and GM Ramos Arizpe plant, both of which are located in Mexico.

  3. Where as it is my opinion that the fit assembly is way better on a gm vehicle than Tesla, I wish that gm would hire a few of Tesla’s I.T. folks.

  4. How about a fix for the millions of faulty 8bspeed transmissions namely a 70k pickup that the trans needs replacing at 60k miles due to shudder at any speed above 15 mph at under 2k rpms…pathetic…my High country will be the Last GM vehicle I buy, it’s no wonder seeing all of the foreign vehicles on the road, I have been loyal for 35 years at every 3-4 years for a new vehicle, and now it will be foreign…Thanks GM

  5. I’ve been waiting over 3 months for a equinox RS. The first one was supposed to arrive August 17, it never came. So I tried for one that was supposed to arrive August 30. And that one is supposedly sitting on train in Avon Indiana and nobody seems to know why it is just sitting there. If you can me a explanation why I would appreciate it.
