As rescue and recovery efforts ramp up in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, GM is chipping in by offering a $1,000 discount to Florida residents who own a vehicle damaged by the storm.
Dubbed the GM Disaster Relief Bonus Cash Program, the $1,000 incentive is available for a range of Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC vehicles, including car and truck models ranging between the 2022 and 2023 model- ears. The program also offers a $500 incentive for those customers who lease a new GM vehicle.
The program is available to Florida residents located in Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hardee, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasoto. In order to receive the incentive, customers are required to provide a copy of an insurance claim that proves their vehicle was damaged by Hurricane Ian.
Most new GM models are eligible for the program, which will be open through November 30th. Interested customers are encouraged to contact their local dealer for more information. Additionally, the program can be combined with other available incentives. Per a report from CarsDirect, the C8 Chevy Corvette is not eligible under this particular program.
GM is among the first major automakers to offer some form of disaster relief for Florida residents affected by Hurricane Ian. Although $1,000 to $500 might not seem like a lot in the face of the extensive destruction seen in Florida, every little bit surely helps.
In addition, GM is also offering OnStar Crisis Assist to current eligible owners impacted by last week’s storm. OnStar Crisis Assist enables users to connect to an OnStar Advisor by pushing the blue OnStar button. Advisors can then work with users to coordinate with emergency rescue and evacuation services, route the user away from danger, connect with loved ones, family, and friends, and direct users to nearby food, water, fuel, shelter, and hotel rooms. Additionally, the service provides data for in-vehicle Wi-Fi for 30 days.

gm gives a large and the dealers are at the minimum going to stop with the “market adjustment” and $2500 wax and scotchgaurd racket.
You mean no EV’s… Come on they hold water better than ICE cars & trucks. Plus, that doesn’t count mark up from the dealer. They should give them free leftovers that are sitting on higher ground. 🚗🚗🏎🚘🏁🌝🌞☂⛱☔
1000 off on vehicles that have climbed as much as 6000 in the past 6 months. So generous of gm
That would be like a car company offering $150 off any car in the 1970s. Nice gesture, but billing it as disaster relief seems tacky.
Haven’t they suffered enough?
That $1000 offer from GM is more than then DeSantis and republicans are offering!
LOL, DeSsntis’s hurricane response has been stellar, Bidum should see him for training.
Maybe Hollywood and the liberal elite should step up and help the needfull people with their new vehicle purchase.
I am sure subsidizing new vehicle purchases is not on the Desantis radar.
WHat would you do differently in the hurricane cleanup? FEMA will probably pick up the tab for the underinsured. Stop your criticism unless you have specific facts to support your accusations.
Where will all of the replacement vehicles come from? Not many new vehicles available around here.
Never let a disaster or crisis go to waste. A great marketing gimmick.
May i have a chevy /gm tel # for assistance on a totaled 2023corvette totaled in the storm i think after waiting 22 months for the car to arrive maybe I should be eligible for something Sincerely Mark
