2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali: High Class Capabilities

The GMC Sierra HD range, which consists of the Sierra 2500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD, is receiving a major refresh for the 2024 model year. Announced earlier this month, the updates incorporate a new front fascia, new tail lamps, an overhauled interior, along with noteworthy powertrain and capability upgrades. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali in the following GM Authority spotlight.

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD trim lineup, from bottom to top, consists of Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali and Denali Ultimate. In addition, the Sierra HD AT4X off-road trim will arrive later on in the model year. The Denali trim level is positioned towards the top, just below the new-for-2024 Denali Ultimate, offering customers the ability to haul or tow in peak comfort.

On the outside, the Sierra HD Denali features new LED projector headlamps and signature lighting, a bold new front bumper, fascia and Denali chrome grille, chrome vertical recovery hooks at the front, along with spray-on bedliner with the Denali logo in the bed. The truck is standard with 20-inch Ultra-Bright Machined Wheels with Bright Chrome and Gloss-Black Accents (single rear wheel) or 18-inch Forged Polished Aluminum Wheels (dual rear wheel / dually models). A set of 22-inch Aluminum Wheels are available as an option for single rear wheel models only.

On the inside, the Sierra HD Denali gets an overhauled cockpit headlined by an all-new, 13.4-inch diagonal center touchscreen and a 12.3-inch diagonal digital driver information center. A multicolor 15-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) is available.

In addition, the interior of the Sierra HD Denali features a premium instrument panel, a Denali-exclusive authentic open-pore walnut wood detailing, perforated leather seats with a contrasting stitch pattern, and an embroidered Denali logo on the front seat-backs.

All 2024 GMC Sierra HD models, including the Sierra HD Denali, will ship as standard with the GMC Pro Safety ensemble of driver assistance technologies, which contains the following:

The Pro Safety Plus package will also be available, which includes additional driver assistance features like Rear Cross Traffic Braking and the Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert.

As for the powertrain options, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD range will continue to feature the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine as standard. The atmospheric V8 continues to be rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, but now features an Allison-branded ten-speed automatic transmission in place of the six-speed used in the pre-refresh models.

The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine remains optional, but it’s been uprated to produce 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque compared to the 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque prior to the refresh. The big boy diesel continues to be paired with an Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.

Official pricing details are expected closer to the start of production, set to start during the first quarter of 2023.
