2024 Chevy Trax Makes Its Introduction: Video

GM recently unveiled the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax, showing of a completely overhauled crossover complete with a long list of changes and updates. Now, GM is introducing the 2024 Chevy Trax with the following short highlight video.

Clocking in at just under a minute, the video is hosted by Brad Franz, who serves as Director, Marketing and Advertising at Chevy. The video quickly summarizes some of the features and highlights of the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax, starting with the exterior.

In terms of styling, the 2024 Chevy Trax adopts Chevy’s latest ICE-based design cues and follows in the footsteps of the Chevy Blazer crossover. What’s more, the next-generation Trax boasts new dimensions that are longer, lower, and wider than the model which preceded it.

As Franz points out, the trim level lineup is differentiated by several unique styling bits, including unique wheels and new grille treatments. Wheel sizing ranges between 17, 18, and 19 inches in diameter depending on the trim level selected, while LED lighting is standard across the range. To note, the trim level lineup consists of LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

The video then goes inside the cabin, where the 2024 Chevy Trax is equipped with a standard 8-inch diagonal screen. Higher in the trim level lineup, the Trax is equipped with an 11-inch touchscreen and 8-inch driver information center. Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard, while the standard Chevy Safety Assist system incorporates a variety of onboard safety tech features. The new cabin space is also roomier than the preceding model, and features an extra 3 inches of rear legroom, and a 12-percent boost to cargo room.

As for the power spec, the 2024 Chevy Trax features the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine as standard, with output rated at a maximum of 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque.

Pricing starts at $21,495 for the base-level LS, rising as high as $24,995 for the 2RS and Activ trim levels.

Look for the 2024 Chevy Trax to go on sale in the Spring of the 2023 calendar year.

    2. Mathieu: the word “cars” is really just the same as saying vehicles. I’m sure they were using the term cars where vehicles may have been a better fit.

But we need to look at what is offered at this moment. Chevy does have the Spark and Malibu yet. Yes, the Spark is done after this year, but you can still buy one. The Malibu looks to be on the way out, but there hasn’t been a firm statement made about that yet that I’m aware of. What we all need to do is keep yelling from the rooftops that we still want sedan’s (cars) in the mix and people need to buy them. Also, just like we call the Spark a car/sedan, we also need to refer to the Bolt (not the EUV) in the same terms because it’s basically the same thing just bigger and EV. The Bolt EUV would probably be considered a crossover.

      1. I was saying that the Spark order books are closed…

Here in Québec, Canada they are rare to find

        1. Yup. The Spark orders are over. And you are correct. Even here in southern California, finding a Spark on a lot is not happening. When a dealer does get one, they are gone within a day and with a rather large (in % to the car’s MSRP) market adjustment added. It’s crazy to see people paying $19,000 for a car that has a $17,000 MSRP. But they are still selling.

      1. It’s 4-5 years for a Rolls Royce so does that make them affordable? No logic to your statement.

  3. Also it is so sad that many car manufacturers are not having 10 000 to 20 000 $ cars anymore..

You have Kia Rio, Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Versa….

    1. Mathieu: Funny you mention those cars. I’ll make this story shorter.

About 7 months ago I was able to sell the car I was driving at a large profit, so I wanted to sell it and buy something more basic for the time. I like the Spark and have owned several of them, so I tried getting one with zero luck unless I wanted to pay $21,000 for a car that listed for $19,000 and then drive 300 miles to get it. So I noticed a Mitsubishi dealer that is only 5 miles from my house and they had 3 or 4 Mirage’s in stock. So I stopped in and took a look at them. Compared to the Spark, they are not nice cars and everything on them seems very cheap. But I wanted to look and a sales person came out with the keys. They had a total of $6,000 added to the price of the car in total, bringing it to $24,000. No way! So I called my guy at the Chevy store where I’ve gotten my other cars. No Sparks, but he had a red Malibu that I could buy for around $28,000. Still too high for me, so I passed. Then a week later he called me and there was a special rebate if I financed with GM Financial (with 0% to boot!!). I ended up buying this car for a total of $23,800 before tax and it’s light years nicer than the Mirage could ever be.

  4. People don’t buy them hence their demise.

    1. Peter: Although that is true, it’s a self inflicted wound. In other words, it’s kind of like a cat chasing it’s tail and never being able to catch it. Let’s just use GM here.

When’s the last time you’ve seen any advertisement for a Malibu? Now when’s the last time you saw an ad for a Silverado? Equinox? What I’d love to ask GM’s management is why advertise your best selling vehicle (truck) and never advertise the Malibu? I see Toyota Camry, Corolla, Accord, Civic commercials all the time. And they sell them. On top of that, under normal inventory circumstances, those same dealers have Camry’s and Corolla’s and Civic’s in stock and ready to buy. Yet drive through a Chevy store and tell me how many Sparks and Malibu’s you see. Normally none, yet there’s rows after rows of Silverado’s lined up.

Bottom line: You can’t sell what you don’t stock and what you don’t advertise. To then say people don’t buy them, although true, is wrong in every way.

      1. Where I come from (western Canada) nobody is selling Camry, Accord or Corolla maybe the odd Civic. If you live anywhere that has any amount of snow or gravel roads sedans don’t make much sense compared to the alternative suv/cuv.

  6. Like that dude in the comments said about “Chevy making stylish cars for everyone”. Ive always known since i started liking Chevy as a brand that their marketing team has just been garbage. How can you let the Altima and Camry steal all your sales, atleast sell one sedan in each brand except for Cadillac they need two.
