2023 GMC Acadia Bright Accent Package No Longer Available To Order

The 2023 GMC Acadia represents the seventh model year of the current, second-generation Acadia, slotting in as what will likely become the final model year before the next-gen Acadia arrives for the 2024 model year. Until then, GM Authority has learned that the Bright Accent Package is no longer available to order for the 2023 model year.

The Bright Accent Package (RPO code PDI) was optional on Acadia SLE and SLT trims. Priced at $650, the package included (RPO code in parentheses):

  • Chrome bodyside moldings (RWI), LPO
  • Chrome mirror caps (VKU), LPO
  • Sport pedal covers (VEB), LPO

Note that this package couldn’t be optioned in conjunction with the Elevation Package (WBP).

It’s also worth noting that eliminating features, options and accessories are par for the course for GM as the automaker begins to ready production of the all-new, next-gen model expected for the 2024 model year. As a reminder, production of the 2024 Acadia will move from the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee to the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan, with a launch expected next year.

The discontinuation of the Bright Accent Package comes on the heels of a recent $1,700 price increase for the 2023 GMC Acadia. The 2023 model year continues with two engine options: GM’s turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm serves as the base engine, while customers can also select the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. The current Acadia rides on the short wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform.

Production of the 2023 GMC Acadia began at the GM Spring Hill facility on June 10th, 2022.
