Almost a year after the 2023 Corvette Z06’s official introduction in the United States, General Motors has announced that the most radical C8 Corvette variant introduced to date has just made its public debut in the Middle East.
The new 2023 Corvette Z06 made its first public appearance in the Middle East during a special automotive event called the Automoto Show at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, which ran from Friday, October 7th to Sunday, October 9th. This marks the first time the Corvette C8 Z06 has been shown locally ahead of its planned regional launch early next year.
In collaboration with Bin Hamoodah Auto, the official Chevrolet dealership in the iconic city of Abu Dhabi, the automaker showcased the 2023 Corvette Z06 for the first time to the public in the United Arab Emirates with a special exhibition celebrating the iconic legacy of the Corvette. As such, the introduction of the high-performance version was supported by the presence of a variety of models spanning all eight Corvette generations.
Specifically, the special display of the 2023 Corvette Z06 at the Abu Dhabi Automoto Show included a single Hypersonic Gray Metallic Coupe-bodied example flanked by 12 collector units of its predecessors, from a legendary first-generation Corvette C1 to the latest Corvette C8 Stingray. The unit on display was enclosed in a glass circle, so visitors to the event could only see it from a distance.
In addition to its more radical and streamlined design, the 2023 Corvette Z06 stands out as having the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine ever offered in a production vehicle. It’s the new naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine that puts out an impressive 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which GM says allows the Z06 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will officially launch in the Middle East early next year, when it is scheduled to arrive and go on sale in Chevrolet’s dealer network in Southwest Asian countries. Full details on C8 Corvette Z06 trims, pricing and specific equipment in that region will be released closer to the regional launch date.

I am a little confused, GM is spending marketing dollars on promoting the Z06 for an early launch in 2023 in the Middle East while they can’t fill the initial orders and stopped taking new orders here in the US. Every week we read articles on part/component shortages with no confirmed dates of when production of the Z06 will return to normal. yet they continue to market the car. What a waste of money!
Unbelievable. GM sure knows how to turn off its Corvette customers. If I had a Z06 ordered I would cancel after they sent one out of the U.S..
Look this is for a regional launch for next year that could be delayed due to supply issue that are just not up to GM to resolve. It is just one car and it may be a pilot model that will be scrapped when done.
As for showing it. This is also a draw to the Chevy Display to sell not just Corvettes but trucks and the very popular Suburban and Cadillacs that are near by.
The Corvette halo effect does work and it helps in these countries to move other models by drawing in customers.
Look anyone there who orders a car will get in line with everyone else. Deal with it. GM is no more happy with the delays than anyone else. Shortages of parts, tornados and other issues all have made it a challenge to get production up on a car they really want to move.
When are some people going to realize that we live in a global economy? GM is not just a company for the citizens of the U.S. Do some of you posters have any economic or business sense at all?
