2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible With Z07 Package In Rapid Blue: Live Photos

The 2023 Corvette Z06 has amassed a huge amount of interest since Chevy first revealed the high performance machine. Much of the attention has been centered around the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine, which is the world’s most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in a production car. Many fans, enthusiasts and observers have been itching to see Chevy’s new track monster in all of its colors, and GM Authority has been providing just that. Today, we have the C8 Z06 in the eye-popping Rapid Blue hue.

The model seen here is the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 hardtop Convertible (as opposed to the Coupe) in Rapid Blue (Color Code GMO) equipped with the optional Z07 Performance Package, which includes the following content (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

  • Four-wheel antilock, four-wheel disc, carbon ceramic brakes (J57)
  • Dark Gray Metallic-painted calipers (J6D)
  • Z07 suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control (FE7)
  • 275/30ZR20 front and 345/25ZR21 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R ultra performance tires (XFS)

Though it’s a bit difficult to tell from the photos, it doesn’t look like this model is equipped with the carbon ceramic rotors, and it certainly doesn’t wear the gray caliipers.

Regardless, the Z07 package on the C8 Z06 also requires one of the following:

  • Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber ground effects (CFZ) and Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber high wing rear spoiler (T0F)
  • Visible carbon fiber ground effects (CFV) and visible carbon fiber high wing rear spoiler (T0G)

This model is equipped with the first option – Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber aero bits. The ensemble rides on a set of Spider Design Black forged aluminum wheels (SOA), while the optional Black exhaust tips (NGA) can be seen out back.

For the 2023 Corvette Z06, the Rapid Blue hue is available with five interior colorways, but not three others.

Available interior colorways:

  • Jet Black
  • Sky Cool Gray
  • Natural
  • Natural Dipped
  • Tension Blue / Twilight Blue Dipped

Not available interior colorways:

  • Adrenaline Red
  • Adrenaline Red Dipped
  • Ceramic White with Red stitching

Chevy has been struggling with all kinds of constraints stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, and – as GM Authority was first to report – orders for the 2023 Corvette Z06 have been heavily limited, further adding to the rarity of this desirable performance machine. In fact, the C8 Z06 is now currently unavailable to even order.

As a result of this, those who were able to place an order have selected option-rich builds. As GM Authority reported in September, a majority of 2023 Corvette Z06 buyers are optioning the car to the gills.

As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette Z06 is equipped as standard with the unique naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Under the skin is the GM Y2 platform that underpins all C8 Corvettes, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  3. i feel really lucky, to have gotten a C8 with magna ride, front lift, working cameras and sensors. no constraints at that moment in time. Feb 2021 build date. my car came complete.
a friend just took delivery of 2023 C8 convertible, without mag ride, no front lift, between the dealer not knowing the option codes, so missing things, and my friend not using configurator and the toll free number for Corvette concierge to confirm that the car being built was what he wanted, it is not exactly the car he wanted. he paid MSRP, no upcharge. he still paid $20k more than me (convertible and price increases overall).
I feel lucky to have shiny C8 in my little 2 car garage.

i am seriously considering saving up for one. am halfway there. a friend got a Huracan, and no doubt, with all wheel drive, insane power. a great machine.

  7. Michigan plates showing, uh…maybe it’s a GM test unit, ‘ya think? Another one of those “see, we built a Z06 and it’s being driven on the street, so there”! At least someone is driving a Z06 and having fun with it, even if it does belong to GM Engineering , hell they’ve put more miles on the few cars they’ve actually built than anyone else. How long are their “test procedures” actually going to last anyway? Oh well, what color do ‘ya think GM will surprise with next? Sheesh!
