2023 Corvette Edge Red Brake Calipers Available To Order Again

C8 Corvette customers eager to add a dash of custom style to their new mid-engine sports car will be happy to learn that the 2023 Corvette is once again available to order with Edge Red brake calipers.

Just last month, GM Authority reported that the 2023 Corvette Stingray and 2023 Corvette Z06 were unavailable to order with the optional Edge Red painted brake calipers due to a supplier issue. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that optional Edge Red calipers are no longer under constraint.

For those readers who may be unaware, the Edge Red painted brake calipers are tagged with RPO code J6N, and are offered on all trim levels for the 2023 Corvette Stingray and 2023 Corvette Z06, including both the Coupe and Convertible body styles. The Edge Red painted brake calipers are also included with the 70th Anniversary Special Edition package (RPO code Y70). Pricing for the Edge Red calipers is set at $695 across the board.

Although the Edge Red painted brake calipers are once again available to order, the 2023 Corvette is still facing myriad constraints and supply chain issues. For example, GM is no longer taking sold orders for the 2023 Corvette Z06 as of early September, per previous GM Authority coverage. Production for the mid-engine super car was heavily constrained as of August, but supplier setbacks deteriorated even further and it is now unclear if GM will take any new 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 sold orders in the future, or if The General will instead opt to wait until the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette Stingray features the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, while 2023 Corvette Z06 features the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. Both models ride on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. 2024?! Doesn’t even make sense to waste money on press tours and advertisements at this point… I’m just salty 🧂.

    1. Ordered a z06, #1 at my dealer, sold my 2020 Corvette, naturally while it appeared all was going well with production. Just learned that 500 Z06 cars are to comprise the totality of the 2023 year…really?

      1. Doe’s the 500 include those that are already built for everybody else except the customers?

        1. I understand that it’s a total of 500. Not sure if it includes the 200+ captured fleet vehicles. Worth the wait but now wondering what the price increase will be next year. Think I should have kept the ’20 and added the supercharger kit.

  3. I am so over these repeated claims of supply side shortages and GM’s priority to electrifying the world. My message to the GM CEO is stop drinking the electric car cool aid and start manufacturing the parts yourself.

  4. GM has no issues promoting, building, and fulfilling EV orders. How about working with your supply chain partners or start building your own parts to fulfill all the open ICE vehicles like the C8, Z06, and all other open orders first!!! You have a lot of loyal customers who have placed deposits/orders on ICE vehicles that you GM are failing miserably at fulfilling. If you don’t turn this around sooner than later you are going to lose your customers to your competitors.

  5. Problem is there is No competition… Gm has priced the C-8 to a selling point a working man, like me, can afford one.. Plus the more the demand,, the more the car is going to keep or increase in value. Bottom line, put your order in , to many dealers if necessary, be patience and enjoy it when it gets here.. GM new slogan is ” Built it and they will come” and buy it !
