The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is the third model year for the latest fifth-generation SUV, introducing a few important updates and changes over the preceding 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will be unavailable to order with the Adaptive Headlamp System for the rest of the 2023 model year.
The Adaptive Headlamp System is normally available for 2023 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels as part of the Touring Package (RPO code ST1), and included as standard for Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport Platinum, and Cadillac Escalade-V models. The Adaptive Headlamp System is not offered for the base-model Luxury trim level.
Notably, the adaptive headlamp feature is currently available for 2023 Cadillac Escalade models sold in Canada. As such, it appears as though the feature unavailability in the U.S. is the result of a validation issue.
As GM Authority covered previously, the Adaptive Beam Headlamps feature was introduced for U.S.-bound units of the Cadillac Escalade with the latest 2023 model year. The feature was made available with the 2022 model year for Canadian-bound units of the Cadillac Escalade, as the technology is already approved for sale in Canada. Additionally, the technology is available to sell for vehicles bound for the European Union as well.
The Adaptive Headlamp feature uses an algorithm that scans the driver’s field of view more than 30 times per second, automatically modifying light output from the headlamps to prevent glare for oncoming vehicles and pedestrians, while still illuminating the surrounding area.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is available with three engine options. Non-Escalade-V models can be had with either the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, or the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, while the Cadillac Escalade-V is equipped as standard with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. Under the skin, the Cadillac Escalade rides on the GM T1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

My ordered 2023 Escalade was delivered 12-24-2022 and did not have the ordered Adaptive Headlight System installed. It was on restraint. The code for it is UVG. Does anyone know if this option is available as a add-on (at a cost) by cadillac dealers now?? The headlight system is the worst out of the last 3 escalade models I have had. In large snow flake snowfalls it is like driving in heavy fog as it illuminates all of the snow in the drivers line of vision. In fog, there is no going as the fog is illuminated. Even in heavy rains at night the vision of the road is terrible. I think the previous available fog lights resolved that issue. I had a 2022 Yukon Denali and that was equipped with fog lights which were needed in these same weather elements mentioned above, and they worked. I am thinking the adaptive headlights on the escalade could tremendously improve the visibility??
