We Render The Upcoming Electric Corvette Sedan

Big changes are on the horizon for GM, with a pivot to electric powertrains that includes fan favorites like the Chevy Corvette. As such, GM is developing a new electric Corvette sedan, and now, GM Authority has rendered what the forthcoming battery-powered Vette might look like.
As GM Authority exclusively reported last month, GM is considering a new electric Corvette sedan to rival EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. Of course, news that GM is thinking about electrifying the Corvette shouldn’t come as a surprise, given GM President Mark Reuss confirmed as much this past April following the release of a teaser for the new C8 E-Ray.
The question, then, is what such a model might look like. Back in October of 2019, GM Authority rendered the mid-engine C8 as a four-door sedan, extending the greenhouse and modifying the overall layout to fit more room in the cabin. Thing is, a Y2-based electric Corvette sedan doesn’t really make sense, at least proportionally and mechanically speaking. Instead, the most obvious solution to bring this concept to market is to base the new electric Corvette sedan on the GM BEV3 platform, just like the upcoming Cadillac EV sedans, as GM Authority covered previously.
But what about styling? With BEV3 under the skin, we looked to the previous-generation C7 Corvette for design cues, as applied with a modernized feel. The proportions here are more in line with an EV as well, including a longer hoodline and a three-box layout. Both a trunk and a frunk are included, as are frameless doors.
In terms of sizing, our electric Corvette sedan isn’t small. Not only does it need space for passengers, but it also needs space for the batteries, and to that end, exterior sizing is in line with the Tesla Model S. For reference, the Tesla Model S has an overall length of 197.7 inches, a wheelbase of 116.5 inches, an overall width of 78.2 inches, and an overall height of 56.3 inches.
As for motivation, the upcoming electric Corvette sedan may be equipped with four electric motors (one per corner) for ultimate all-wheel drive performance.

Developing a vehicle to its fullest potential does not mandate adding doors! Chevrolet would exhibit total incompetency if they start “Porsching” the Corvette. IF more doors are their preference then bring back the Vega!
The Vega GT….What A Car?…I Drove It To A Marine Corps Reserve Location And Every Time I Took My Foot Off The Gas It Started Back Firing….I Took It To A Chevrolet Dealership (It Was Brand New…300 Miles) And The Service Manager Told Me That Was Normal With This Car….I Traded It In The Next Day With 325 Miles On The Odometer At A New Dealership.
Making Corvette a full Automotive line makes perfect sense. The idea is to keep “Corvette-ness” in every model, That means World Class performance in a SUV, roadster, sedan, delivery van, whatever. Porsche sports cars flourish because of sales of the Panamera and SUV’s, all of which retain Porscheness. I think Chevy would do well to break Corvette off into the American Powerhouse brand.
