Off-roading fans can take their passion to a whole new level with the scale-model Chevy K10 TRX-4 High Trail Edition from Traxxas, offering remote control fun on a variety of challenging surfaces, plus an impressive level of detail.
Modeled after the 1979 Chevy K10 pickup, the new Traxxas Chevy K10 TRX-4 High Trail Edition remote-control scale model features a tall stance with a factory-installed long arm lift kit and 110mm extended-length GTS shocks, providing an additional inch of ground clearance and enough room to fit 5.3-inch Canyon Trail 2.2 tires for oodles of all-terrain traction. The tires are mounted on 2.2-inch Chrome Resto-Mod wheels for the perfect look. The mini rig is also equipped with a lowered servo mount for proper steering geometry.
In terms of styling, Traxxas nailed it, with the classic Chevy K10 lines recreated to scale with a 336mm wheelbase. The body molding features clip-less mounting, making for a clean look, while the suspension and underbody components show off even more scale-model goodness and functionality. The sideview mirrors, bed, tailgate, door handles, and badging are all exactly as they should be, and customizers can even add in an LED lighting kit, if desired.
Taking a peek underneath the body, we see a set of Traxxas portal axles, offering even more ground clearance. When it comes to control, users can remotely lock the differentials, while a high/low range two-speed transmission makes it easy to go crawling or hit the trails.
Motivation is sourced from an XL-5 HV 3s electronic speed control unit and Titan 21T high-torque motor. Users can also connect their smartphone to view digital incline and tilt gauges.
Traxxas recently posted a three-minute video showing off the capabilities and features of the new Chevy K10 TRX-4 High Trail Edition, including action shots of the rig doing some crawling and making a water crossing. Check it out right here:
Per the Traxxas website, pricing starts at $549.99.

Single Cab………The real off road truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes sir. I had a 79 Chevy short box with a 350 in it. I bought it new put a 6 inch lift kit in it and 36 inch tires. I loved that truck, I wish I still had it. Great memories.
In 1975, I bought a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive Silverado, 350 automatic single cab. It was maroon with the wood grain down the middle. It was featured in the fold out Chevrolet truck brochure for that year. It was full time 4 wheel drive, so I changed out the full time transfer case with a kit from Gear venders, I think that was the company, to manual hubs. It had 16.5 wheels and tires, which I bought 16.5 aluminum mag wheels and bigger tires, and lifted it 3″. I have had it painted once and had to put new sides on the box, but I still have it today, and have passed it on to my son.
Pretty much a ditto on what TONY said.
Ii loved mine too.
And wish I had it back.
It was Red. Really similar.
