Before we cover the 2023 Chevy Suburban towing capacity figures, it’s worth going over the SUV’s greasy bits, starting with the powertrain lineup. Customers can equip the 2023 Chevy Suburban with one of three engine options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 383 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm.
All three engines connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, which feeds either the rear wheels, or all four wheels. Customers can also equip the optional Max Trailering Package (RPO code NHT), which includes the content from the Advanced Trailering package, the Enhanced cooling radiator, and a two-speed transfer case for LS, LT, and RST trim levels running four-wheel drive.

Can anyone explain why the 5.3 engine tows 100 lbs more than the 6.2 engine with much more HP and torque? I would think it would be the opposite.
Less weight from the engine means it can handle more weight from the trailer.
This is not the answer they are both LS engines with the same outside dimensions 5.3 and 6.2 the blocks and heads are the same just bigger bores.

Do us all a HUGHE favor, Stop writing stories about things that don’t exsist, I have ordered a 21-22, and now a 23 model year with a trailer brake controller, and am still waiting for it to be built. All have been accepted orders, and never made becasuse of one restraint or another.

You towing may and will be lower. Opts. ? trim levels # of people in the car where are you towing? Flats on Kansas? Over the a 10,000 pass ????? To bad there is no 3/4 ton suburban or 2 row wagon custom model
