The all-new Buick Envista has just made its world debut in China during the 2022 Chengdu Motor Show, introducing a new youth-focused concept for the Tri-Shield brand that enjoys a strong commercial track record in the Chinese market.
The SAIC-GM joint venture in China announced that the all-new Buick Envista will play a key role in the next stage of Buick‘s rejuvenation, as it introduces a youthful concept unlike any other for the brand, encompassing a bolder design proposition and an unprecedented level of customization created specifically to appeal to the new generation of customers.
In addition to being the first crossover to adopt the brand’s new Pure Design language, the Buick Envista breaks down the barriers of traditional utility vehicles with a coupe-style shape and athletic proportions typically reserved for high-end models. As such, the Envista will bring that design concept closer to the masses by positioning itself in the lower end of the C-segment, the highest-volume category in the automotive market.
Similarly, the Buick Envista offers a sporty GS version that accentuates the model’s bold design proposition with a unique black mesh grille, 18-inch black-painted wheels paired with red brake calipers, as well as a specific interior finish that includes sports seats and the GS badging. In fact, the Envista is the brand’s second crossover to receive a GS version after the Envision S for China.
Additionally, the youth-focused concept of the new Buick Envista is further highlighted by offering the highest level of standard customization of any vehicle in the Buick portfolio. Interested customers will be able to choose from the Envista’s six main paint colors and up to 20 official color wrap films, completing no less than 26 different exterior tones to meet users’ personalized needs.
The all-new Buick Envista has already started its pre-sale period and will be officially launched in the coming weeks in China, where it will be manufactured to supply the domestic market. Buick’s new compact crossover was announced with a starting price of 150,000 yuan, or about $21,800 USD at current exchange rates. Details on trim levels and other features for China will be revealed closer to launch.

HELLO KITTY
Mary Kay Cosmetics wood love these. Probably a lot les expensive than the XT4 & XT5′ in pink.
Horrible! Not a cool kid aspirational car. And those Corvette-like headlamps look terrible!
Buick had the best corporate face best shown on Avista but Envision looks great, too. All Opel Mark Adam’s influence has been erased.
Thought Buick was moving upmarket after Envision. Envision looks cheap, boring, and like a Saturn Ion.
I didn’t know they sold Mary Kay Cosmetics in China.
“Youthful & Sporty”!! You know, for that young 20 something year old consumer who aspires to lugging kids around to soccer practice, weekend runs to Costco and Wednesday night bowling league. Throw in a pair of white New Balance sneakers or perhaps some penny loafers and watch those youths tear down the doors of the local Buick dealership demanding a Buick Envista!
Nice now bring it stateside so I can buy one… I am tired if other countries getting everything that the US does not… What are we a third world country! Come on GM
I’m holding out for the Buick Eviscerate model. Rumored to be not as crappy.
Can’t help to think that this looks a lot like the current Ford Escape. Just my untrained eye, I guess.
The car is a hatchback! Ford Escape is small SUV- & in my opinion they look nothing alike & likely would not appeal to the same consumer base.
They are both considered small SUVs. Maybe this Buick is a little smaller, but I’m not really sure.
They aren’t styled the same, but are pretty much the same thing.
