Following the official launch of the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in China in June, GM’s local subsidiary announced that Cadillac‘s all-electric crossover has just started shipping in the Asian country.
The SAIC-GM joint venture officially began distributing the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in China on September 28th, when the first batch of crossovers left the Cadillac Jinqiao plant in Shanghai for the dealer network. The introduction of the Lyriq in the Chinese market is progressing as planned and the first deliveries to local customers will be made this week, as the manufacturer had announced.
The first 2023 Cadillac Lyriq units on their way to dealerships in China are rear-wheel-drive variants with the Luxury and Prestige “long-range” equipment levels – whose deliveries were scheduled to start before the end of this month. All come standard with two-tone bodywork, including a black roof, in a color palette that includes Grey, White, Latte, Red Wine, Light Blue and Dark Blue.
Being RWD variants, both trim levels of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq in China feature a single rear-axle-mounted Ultium Drive engine that generates 342 horsepower (255 kW) and 325 pound-feet of torque, as well as an Ultium battery pack with a driving range of 312 miles. The range-topping high-performance Prestige AWD variant will begin shipping in late December or early 2023.
Notably, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the first vehicle based on GM’s Ultium propulsion technology to be introduced to the Chinese market, spearheading the luxury brand’s transition to an all-electric future in the world’s largest auto market. In addition, the Lyriq stands out for introducing Cadillac’s new design language and nomenclature system, as well as a higher level of refinement and class-leading technological equipment.
The all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will begin deliveries to the first customers this week in China, debuting a new Cadillac direct sales system in the country through its new “IQ Stores” network. These stores are owned by the brand and were created exclusively to market electric vehicles in that country. Here are the suggested prices for the Cadillac Lyriq in China:
- Lyriq Luxury RWD: 439,700 CNY (about $61,070 USD at the current exchange rate)
- Lyriq Prestige RWD: 459,700 CNY ($63,850 USD)
- Lyriq Prestige AWD: 479,700 CNY ($66,620 USD)
