The GMC Hummer EV is an impressive bit of kit, combining cutting-edge all-electric powertrain tech with a suit of off-road-ready equipment. Now, we’re getting our first real-world look at the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X Pickup thanks to the following GM Authority photos.
For those readers who may be unaware, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X is the second-tier trim level in the GMC Hummer EV Pickup lineup, slotting in above the base EV2, and below the penultimate EV3X. That range-topper of the group is the Edition 1.
This particular 2024 GMC Hummer EV2X is finished in Void Black paint (paint code GBA), one of eight exterior paint options offered. The black paint lends the overall design a more solid form, with silver trim bits standing out in contrast to the deep, dark body panels.
Up front for example, we see silver applied to the skid plate in the lower fascia, while a silver surround for the red GMC badge is seen in the corner. The GMC Hummer EV’s broad lighting treatment is illuminated, while silver accents for the beefy wheels help to call attention to the chunky Goodyear tires rolling the corners. The profile is also notable for the 2X badging located just below the A-pillar and ahead of the sideview mirrors.
More black-out treatment is seen in the rear for the tailgate and bumper, while the inner taillight housings are done in black as well.
As for motivation, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV2X Pickup features a dual-motor powertrain producing a maximum of 625 horsepower, with range per charge estimated at 300 miles.
GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motors are on deck, while the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings. As a reminder, GMC hummer EV production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

2X doesn’t have the underbody armor or the dual motor rear. This could weight several hundred pounds less than the edition 1. I would assume the weight of the 2X is a good proxy for the weight of the Silverado EV.
well — we go with Simpsons’ car … more appropriate to our tiny streets
Have you ever seen one of these things up close, or sitting in a GMC dealer? It is “HUGE” and it is “EXPENSIVE” and, it is “HEAVY”, like over 9000 pounds! OMG, come on GM, really….three tons! It is a lot of vehicle, I grant you that, but you seriously have to have some kind of complex to drive this thing around town, it is both impressive and “arrogant in your face” at the same time! I’m sure GMC will see enough of them to perhaps make a profit on them, plus the dealers sure will, with a dealer “Fair Market Value” sticker added to the already costly MSRP, the one I saw was just under (Gulp!) $200,000! Damn!
Okay so it’s out of my league, way, way out of my league…so will the new Chevy Silverado EV Truck, our local Chevy dealers touting a “well over 100 Grand” cost! I dunno, to me that’s still a hell of a lot of money and that is only for starters!
The new Ford Lightening EV Truck ain’t any cheaper, again, sticker at 96 Grand and with “mark ups” it touched well over the magic 100 Grand figure too! Have we light duty big truck lovers lost our collective minds or what…Day-Am!
Oh well…I guess that old saying “if you have to ask how much”…you can’t afford it holds true! Damn right, but who can afford it and will the vehicle loose value like other vehicles do, or will it stay stable or (gasp) go up in value! Guess we’ll have to wait for the answers to these questions and more as these “Big Dog” monsters hit the highways of America.
