2024 Chevy Equinox EV To Start At About $37,250 In Canada

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will start at just under C$38,000 including destination and freight when it reaches Canada in limited quantities next fall.

Chevrolet Canada confirmed this week the 2024 Chevy Equinox will carry a base price of C$35,000, plus an additional $2,500 to cover the destination freight charge, A/C tax and other premiums, bringing the pre-tax price tag to $37,500. This applies to the entry-level 1LT trim only, which receives some additional equipment for the Canadian market including heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and an eight-way power driver’s seat. Heated seats are often equipped as standard on Canadian market vehicles due to the colder climate.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will be available in Canada in very limited quantities in the well-equipped 2RS trim level starting next fall, with the full trim level lineup to arrive in early 2024. Unlike the U.S. models, the 3LT and 3RS trim levels will not be available with the front-wheel-drive powertrain in Canada and will come with the eAWD powertrain only. The trim level lineup is otherwise the same for Canadian models, consisting of the 1LT, 2LT and 2LT, as well as the 2RS and 3RS.

In Canada, the front-wheel-drive Equinox EV with the standard battery is rated at an estimated 250 miles, while the long range model gets an estimated 480 kilometres on a charge. All versions equipped with eAWD are rated at 450 kilometres. The electric crossover’s FWD powertrain includes a single Ultium Drive electric motor powering the front wheels, which is rated at 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque. The optional eAWD system, meanwhile, is rated at 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque.

The Equinox EV offers Level 2 AC charging at 11.5 kWh (standard) and 19.2 kWh (optional), as well as DC fast charging capability of up to 150 kW. When plugged into a DC fast charging outlet, the crossover will add 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will enter production at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico next fall. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevy Equinox news, Chevy news, GM electric vehicle news and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

  1. I’m rather impressed. On first notice, you might think the base model is expensive since the Equinox Premier is $37,300 CAD, but you need to factor in the $5,000 Canadian EV credit and you’re at $32,250 CAD – around the price of an RS. If you live in a province with additional EV credits (like BC or Quebec), then you get another $5,000-8,000 CAD off the price and may be looking at a $24,000-$27,000 price tag.

  7. GM is moving towards building all of their lower priced vehicles outside of U.S. I’ve been buying U.S. made GM vehicles since I was kid. All good things come to an end.

  8. I have loved my Bolt EV since 2017 and have driven it for the last 240,000 kms, the only issue has been the fast charging and the uncomfortable seats. I think though I will trade it in Next spring for an Equinox EV if I can get my hands on one.
