2024 Chevy Equinox EV 2RS: The Budget Sport Trim Level
Sponsored Links
The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will be offered in the standard 1LT, 2LT and 3LT trim levels for mainstream customers that want a sensible family crossover, or an inexpensive, eco-friendly way to get to and from work or the grocery store. For customers who want something a bit sportier that won’t break the bank, though, there’s the Equinox EV 2RS.
While the Equinox EV 2RS won’t be any quicker or faster than other trim levels, it offers a sporty appearance thanks to its red-themed RS badging as well as available Black with Red Accents interior or Adrenaline Red interior. Much of the standard equipment on these models is shared with the 2LT trim level and includes the following:
- 8-way power-adjustable driver seat
- Heated front seats and heated steering flat-bottom wheel
- 11-inch-diagonal driver information center
- 20-inch dark aluminum wheels
- Front LED light bar
- Roof rails
- Heated outside mirrors
In addition, the 2RS rim level can be equipped with certain features that are not available on lesser rims, including:
- Available 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen
- Available presence-based power liftgate
- Available Adaptive Cruise Control and HD Surround Vision
- Available Super Cruise driver assistant technology
- Available Black roof
- Available sunroof
The available Black roof is one of the key features that set the two RS trim levels apart from the LT trim levels, which can only be ordered with a contrasting white roof. The contrasting black roof gives the two RS trims a sportier, more aggressive exterior appearance and matches the standard gloss black trim they come with.
The Equinox EV 2RS comes standard with the front-wheel-drive powertrain and long-range battery. This combination is rated at 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque, while range sits at an estimated 300 miles. This trim cannot be ordered with the standard range battery, which is exclusive to the 1LT trim.
The 2LT can be equipped with the available eAWD system, as well, which bumps output to 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque, with range sitting at 280 miles. GM has not said how much it will cost to equip the Equinox 2RS with the longer-range battery or AWD, with additional pricing info to be divulged as its official on-sale date approaches. It’s worth noting the initial launch model that will arrive in the fall of 2023 will be based on the Equinox 2RS trim level, as well, however GM has yet to offer any details on this variant.

Gosh, you made 5 stories out of 5 different trim levels.
And pricing only on the stripper model.
Been great to have them detail them out this way.
GMA is following CHICK-FIL-A, where they sell ONE CHICKEN SANDWICH, and have a WHOLE MENU full of choices….
“Oh you want Chicken with Lettuce only on that? That is our special ‘Chicken IN THE GRASS’ sandwich !”
mkavt pricing for the top trims has not been announced yet… As per GM! And TRU if you don’t like the article then why read it.
How can I know if it is a contender without knowing the price. I’d get a veyron if they were 30k. If the 1LT is 30, but any trim above that is 60+ with the bigger battery, isn’t that more important to know than red accents?
Mkavt look at it this way the Equinox EV is a year away if they announce top trim level prices now and the price of the parts goes up then they look like fools for telling us an RS will say be $45,000 then next year it shoots up to $48,000…IMO GM should not even have said the base model would be $30,000 and it’s still a year away.
I agree, they never should have announced the 30K number. Frankly, I don’t believe it. But if you announce 1LT, you should announce them all for consistency. At least then I could gauge if I’d be interested in this vs the Lyriq. Battery prices will track and that is going to be the primary driver in prices of all EV’s. And they seem to be going up fairly rapidly.
They said around 30. So 33,995 plus 1795 destination means 36k starting.
Thr trim anyone wants will be 42-45k.
Yup, I will stick with ICE.
The 1LT will be on constraint until they get in enough price increases to make it worthwhile to build.
Yeah, I can’t even get a price on a 2023 Silverado on the GM Family First site yet! What gives?
Depending on the interior color choices, this could be the one.
Needs a non-black rim option. Rims need contrast and depth, black rims make the wheel wells look empty. Black steel rims are what gets used for snow tires often in cold regions, which these are not but have a similar appearance. Don’t need/want chrome just a nice premium rim like other Chevy models offer for higher trim levels. Trailblazer RS rims look way better than what is pictured for the Equinox EV.
This vehicle shouldn’t have been announced yet, way to early. Serious near ready buyers are not looking past 12 months out. Blazer EV should have just been announced now with the Equinox EV next spring. The only reasons I can think of that they announced these vehicles early is to gauge & gain interest and to help with stock price.
Hate the blackout trim and wheels but I know that’s what the young RS guys like. I do like the non- black only interior. Back in the day there were multiple interior colors to choose from. One of my early Mustangs (67) had a red interior and another one had two tone blue!
Well GM has now made the RS a bona fide trim level and not just an appearance package. I like how they have done the RS trims for the Equinox and Blazer EVs with extra performance along with the more sportier look. Just that buyers will have to shell out much more for the RS trim.
Evo69 I understand where your coming from but the current Blazer RS while just an appearance package costs more then a regular Blazer.
