2024 Chevy Equinox EV 2LT: The Mainstream Trim Level

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 1LT will no doubt be a volume seller with its estimated $30,000 starting price, however it’s likely that the Equinox EV 2LT will prove to be the more popular trim level over time, targeting the core of the compact crossover segment with popular standard equipment and a middle-of-the-road asking price.

Compared to the base 1LT trim level, which has manual adjust seats and individual LED headlamps, the Equinox 2LT will add the following standard equipment:

  • 8-way power-adjustable driver seat
  • Heated front seats and heated steering wheel
  • Front LED light bar
  • Roof rails
  • Heated outside mirrors

In addition, the 2LT trim level can be equipped with a long list of features that are not available on the 1LT trim in any capacity. This includes:

  • Available Black with Blue Accents interior or Sky Cool Gray interior
  • Available 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen
  • Available presence-based power liftgate
  • Available Adaptive Cruise Control and HD Surround Vision
  • Available Super Cruise driver assistance technology
  • Available White roof with Blue exterior
  • Available sunroof

GM has not yet said how these features will be packaged in the order book for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 2LT, although it’s likely certain features will be bundled together as part of equipment packages, rather than sold as standalone items.

The Equinox EV 2LT will also come standard with the front-wheel-drive powertrain and long-range battery. This combination is rated at 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque, while range sits at an estimated 300 miles. Notably, this trim cannot be ordered with the standard-range battery, which is exclusive to the 1LT trim.

The 2LT can be equipped with the available eAWD system, as well, which bumps output to 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque, with range sitting at 280 miles. GM has not said how much it will cost to equip the Equinox 2LT with the longer-range battery or AWD, with additional info to be divulged as its official on-sale date approaches.

  1. It will be interesting to see the price difference of this package and a similarly equipped Blazer.

  2. So will they do the same thing as ford is doing with the lightening? Base 40k but to get anything it’s 60-80k???? I’m guessing 2lt starts at 42k.

Shamefull considering it’s the same class car as the trailblazer for 25k.

    1. The Trailblazer is smaller with a much shorter wheelbase. No doubt there will be a price increase for the 2LT, but it will probably translate to 4k-6k more. So 35K American and 42K-44K Canadian respectively. IMHO, that’s still aggressive value at current electricity rates vs gasoline.

    2. The Equinox EV is larger than the current ICE Equinox. The wheelbase is 9 inches longer and the total length is ~8 inches longer, much larger than the Trailblazer.

  3. Interesting. The Canadian 1LT sounds more like an American 2LT since it gets heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and power driver seats in the 1LT. The only thing main things it will be missing are the battery increase and LED bar.

  4. I would like this Equinox more if they had been A LOT MORE aggressive with respect to the styling.
    To me, it’s pretty boring.

  5. Sam please list the same features and options for the 3LT version.

  6. Will the new equinox for 2023 or 2024 be able to tow 1500 lb boat and motor.

    1. Probably not very far…look up the new Ford F150 Lightning towing videos on YouTube. Pulling a camper, the Lightning barely gets 90-100 miles of towing range before needing a charge, and that is on their extended range battery. I can’t imagine any other EV would have much better results.

  7. Good luck finding a 1LT as GM makes much more profit selling a 2LT. During this chip shortage, GM allocated their chips to their more expensive models. Auto makes should make more affordable cars for the masses who cannot afford $35,000 to $70,000 cars.

  8. What does an EV under 35k look like?

    1. A Chevy Bolt.

  9. $30K? Yeah, right. If you want tires, a heater, a radio, and batteries it will be $45K. And don’t forget the mandated “options” that the dealer will add on

    1. I guess you haven’t been to a Car Dealer lately. Currently you can get a Chevrolet BOLT EV for under $30K , since they have recently applied the nearly $6000 discount to 2022 models to match the 2023 price reduction.

I have a 2017 BOLT EV and really love it . It has become our main vehicle for day to day use, leaving our minivan idle except when we need to carry more people or materials.

Yes material shortages are impacting everyone right now. A little patience is need to allow all systems to get back up to speed. I don’t know if you are aware , but this is a global problem right now and the US is recovering much faster than most of the countries.

      1. The Bolt “isn’t a car”…it’s known in the industry as a puddle jumper. Not very mainstream, just to get real.

        1. I’m curious; have you ever driven a BOLT EV ?

          Reply
          1. Yes absolutely.
            Ordered one actually
Rubbing elbows with the passenger was something I had to think long and hard on.

  10. They finally got the styling right. The Equinox has always been a little gawky . This looks good.

    1. Hey, personal preference…hard to argue😵‍💫

  11. Looks pretty good… except for those hideous direction wheels. Yuk!

  12. Some more info please:

What size wheel choices on 2LT?
Does any trim level come with lumbar support?
Can we kill the roof rails?
    Of course – pricing!
