The online configurator for the 2023 GMC Terrain is now live on GMC.com, allowing users to view different exterior and interior colors on the compact crossover, apply various options and equipment packages, and receive a complete pricing breakdown of their preferred build specification.
The 2023 GMC Terrain arrives as the sixth model year of the second-generation nameplate. Only minor changes have been applied to the GMC Terrain for the 2023MY, the most significant of which is the introduction of the new turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine. This powerplant replaces the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine. Rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, the LSD pairs with the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, while the crossover sticks with the same GM D2 platform.
In addition, the 2023 GMC Terrain also receives a revised list of exterior paint options, ditching the Quicksilver Metallic, Hunter Metallic and Cayenne Red Tintcoat colors for Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Sterling Metallic and Deep Bronze Metallic. Just like the closely related 2023 Chevy Equinox, the nameplate also gets a new electro-hydraulic braking system for the 2023 model year that will replace the traditional vacuum-assisted braking system.
Pricing for the 2023 GMC Terrain in the entry-level SLE trim level with front-wheel drive starts at $31,295, while the SLT is priced from $35,295. The off-road-focused AT4 trim with standard all-wheel drive starts at $37,395, while the range-topping Denali, which is also now only offered with standard AWD, starts at $39,995. All of these prices include the mandatory $1,395 destination freight charge, and all-wheel drive can be added to the SL, SLE and SLT trim levels for a $1,600 price premium.

So I’m just curious about these stories about the “2023” vehicle configurator going live. They did a similar story for the 2023 Malibu about a month ago and as of this morning, you still can’t build a 2023 Malibu.
What am I missing? Same goes for the 2023 Cadillac CT4/CT5.

Thanks GeargeS, but I have absolutely zero interest in an SUV/CUV and especially the Terrain. That’s one ugly vehicle. If I were wanting something like that, I’d only buy the Buick Encore GX with the ST trim or the Envision with the Avenir trim so that I’d get a fully painted vehicle instead of the cheap black plastic all around these things.
But I was specifically asking about how they put a story on here about the configurator going live when it’s not. That’s the case with the Malibu for just over a month now, so I was asking if there’s someplace else they are finding this instead of on Chevrolet’s website.
