Pickup fans looking for adventure in the great outdoors can get exactly that the new 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X, and now, we’re watching this off-roader conquer the “great indoors” in the following brief video advertisement.
Clocking in at just 30 seconds, the new ad shows the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X charging up a mountainside, carving some dusty switchbacks with mud splattered across the lower body panels. The truck easily cruises over the rough terrain, utilizing the underbody camera system to quickly spot potential hazards.
As the truck approaches a waterfall, we see the camera zoom in behind the cascade of water, revealing the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X crawling through a cave system –Â or, as the video narrator calls it, the “great indoors.”
“Welcome to the peak of premium off-roading,” the narrator says.

As GM Authority exclusively reported in July, the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X will be equipped as standard with a range of equipment plucked from the new 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition. The new goodies will be added to the pickup later in the 2023 model year, and will include the AEV stamped steel front and rear bumper with heavy-duty recovery points and winch capability (this particular example in the ad has a winch), a hot-stamped boron steel front approach skid plate, a gloss Black header and insert bars with dark nickel accents for the grille, and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.
Under the hood, the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X features the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm. Output is directed to the four-wheel drive system through the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, while under the skin is the GM T1 platform. Production of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
