The 2023 GMC Acadia adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Ultra Blue Metallic, and Sterling Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Sterling hue.

Assigned RPO code GXD and touch-up paint code WA-130H, Sterling Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the midsize crossover, which include:

  • Ebony Twilight Metallic
  • Hunter Metallic
  • Light Stone Metallic
  • Summit White
  • White Frost Tricoat
  • Sterling Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Ultra Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)

Sterling Metallic is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $495 to the crossover’s price. It is available in conjunction with all trim levels and can be combined with all Acadia interior colorways.

For reference, here are all three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Acadia:

  • Cocoa/Light Ash Gray
  • Dark Galvanized/Light Shale
  • Jet Black

The 2023 GMC Acadia represents the seventh model year of the second-generation Acadia, introducing a few changes and updates before the arrival of the all-new, third-generation Acadia for the 2024 model year. The 2023 Acadia continues to be available with two engine options, starting with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Customers can also select the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

To note, the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, which is rated at 193 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 188 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, was deleted for the 2022 model year.

The Acadia rides on the regular wheelbase, narrow track version of the GM C1 platform. Production of the 2023 GMC Acadia kicked off June 10th, 2022 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
