2023 Cadillac XT5 Gets New Argent Silver Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Opulent Blue Metallic, and Argent Silver Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Silver hue.

Assigned RPO code GXD and touch-up paint code WA-130H, Argent Silver Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the luxury midsize crossover, which include:

  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Latte Metallic
  • Rosewood Metallic
  • Stellar Black Metallic
  • Wilder Metallic
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Opulent Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)

The Argent Silver Metallic color is a no-cost option that is available on all trims and can be combined with all interior colorways.

For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 XT5:

  • Cirrus with Dark Titanium accents
  • Cirrus with Jet Black accents
  • Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents

The current, first-generation Cadillac XT5 made its debut for the 2017 model year, with a refresh launched for the 2020 model year. The luxury crossover was set to receive a heavy update for the 2023 model year, but the refresh was subsequently delayed, and it’s currently unclear if it will ever see the light of day.

As a reminder, the Cadillac XT5 continues to ride on the GM C1 platform and is offered with two powertrain options. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is standard on Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. Models with this engine wear the 350T on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, is optional on the Premium Luxury trim level and standard on the Sport trim. These models can be identified by the 400 badge on the liftgate. No matter the engine, output is routed through the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

On Luxury and Premium Luxury, front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel-drive is optional. Sport models feature all-wheel-drive as standard.

XT5 production for North America takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. The 2023 Cadillac XT5 began rolling off the assembly line on June 10th, 2022.

    2. 2024 is the set date for a re-designed XT5. Agreed that the design needs to be updated especially the interior dash.

      1. The current XT5 looks just fine. The current interior is efficient, functional, and easy to use. It is on par with the current interior designs of other GM brands.

All they are going to do with an interior redesign is stick a 12″ tablet on the dash and call it a day anyway. At least currently the XT5’s touch screen is integrated in the dash and easy to reach and interact with.
