The Cadillac CT5-V occupies an important place in the nameplate’s lineup, offering more performance than the regular CT5, but not going quite as far as the fire-breathing CT5-V Blackwing. Unfortunately, the CT5-V will be a bit harder to come by in the near future, with a supply constraint set to severely limit the vehicle’s production capacity for the remainder of the 2023 model year.
Going forward, the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V will be limited to 20 percent of its originally planned production capacity. This means the automaker will only build 20 percent of the CT5-V models that it had originally planned for the rest of the 2023MY, but this figure may change if the supply chain problems diminish over time. This applies to the Cadillac CT5-V only and not the CT5-V Blackwing, or the regular CT5 in the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.
The centerpiece of the Cadillac CT5-V is equipped with the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LGY gasoline engine, which is rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed through the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, while under the skin is the GM Alpha 2 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, which also produces the related Cadillac CT4 sedan and Chevy Camaro sports coupe. Pricing for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V starts at $52,390 for the rear-wheel-drive model, while the all-wheel-drive model is priced from $54,390.
Changes applied to the Cadillac CT5-V for the 2023 model year include the introduction of a new Bronze Accent Package, as well as a new standard Driver Assist Package that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and Reverse Automatic Braking. The sedan also received a revised list of exterior paint options for the 2023MY.

Why doesn’t GM just say it–“we want all the chips we can get our hands on going into our pick-up trucks and SUVS–not our cars”.
Is 2023 the last model year for the CT5 and CT5-V Blackwing? I can’t imagine production will go to 2024 given that 2023 is the last year for the Camaro
If they do stop, they’ll be leaving a lot of money on the table. CT5-V Blackwing orders are through the roof!
The only money that matters at GM is government money…..the consumer and what they want can go pound sand as far as their concerned…..
Going all the way back to the Buick Grand National during the 80’s , GM has a reputation of leaving money on the table by ceasing production when demand is high. No doubt they will do the same again with the Blackwing as they move to EVs that can’t be supported by the grid. Same thing happening at Dodge. Lunatic politicians are mostly to blame.
To the author AND editor of this article; the article reads that the CT5-V will be heavily constrained, but in the 2nd paragraph then article eludes to the CT5-V Blackwing will be heavily constrained to 20% production of MY2023. I’m sure it is a typo but with the complete lack of transparency and reliable information along with placing the consumer in-between the manufacturer and dealership(s) it just adds to the ever-growing frustrations.
You go to the dealership and they look at you with this deer in the headlight look on any type of information as it relates to where the car they have ordered is or when they may anticipate it’s arrival. You go try and find it from the manufacturer and they tell you to get more detailed information from the dealership from which you placed the order. Consumers are finding their car go in and out of Description Event codes with no explanation and ‘limited production’ cars sitting in lots with their vehicles exposed to the elements for 2, 3, 5 and for some up to 6 months before being placed on a transport.
Consumers deserve better from the manufacturer here. A LOT BETTER!

Who edits these articles?? Huge contradiction.
Don’t build it and they won’t come.
It’s a insult at this point. They’ll build a third of what they projected then discontinue the car right on schedule anyway, with customers lined up around the block.
