The 2023 Cadillac CT5 is offered as the fourth model year for the luxury sedan, debuting a handful of small updates and changes compared to the 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that units of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 and 2023 Cadillac CT5-VÂ have been built without ventilated seat blower motors.
According to sources familiar with the matter, units of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 and 2023 Cadillac CT5-V produced from the start of production on July 18th through September 4th were built without the ventilated cushion motor. Affected units are indicated as such by a window sticker that includes RPO code 04O.
Customers who purchase a 2023 Cadillac CT5 or 2023 Cadillac CT5-V affected by this constraint will receive a $25 purchase credit. Additionally, the feature will be eligible for a dealer retrofit at an as-of-yet unspecified date.
The affected feature in question is dubbed Ventilated driver and front passenger seat cushions and seatbacks, which is tagged with RPO code KU9. This feature is normally included and only available for 2023 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels via one of the following packages (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Platinum Package (PCJ)
- Super Cruise 2 Package (WKA)
- Climate Package (Y6F)
For the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V, the Ventilated driver and front passenger seat cushions and seatbacks feature is normally included and only available via the Premium Package, which is tagged with RPO code PCK.
The ventilated seats feature is not offered at all for the base 2023 Cadillac CT5 Luxury. To note, the ventilated seats feature is included as standard for the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, which was unaffected by this latest constraint for the blower motor.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5 rides on top of the GM Alpha 2 platform. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

I have been waiting 6 months for my heated steering wheel for my 2022. Mary doesn’t care when or if I ever get it. You think she cares about the owners of the 2023 models? Guess again. Great customer service from GM.
What the hell… ordered a 23 CT5V which is sitting built for a month. Does this mean the ventilated seat motor is literally missing in the seat? How do they retrofit that later? And if so I have to pay 100’s for it?
Not that any car company doesn’t have issues but I truly do not think anyone goes above and beyond to absolutely rail their customers like GM. Doesn’t matter if it’s a luxury Cadillac or a blue collar pickup. There will be inexcusable issues and a bottom of the barrel customer service experience.
Just guessing, but, SOMETHING tells me Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, and maybe Lincoln, are shipping their cars complete.
