The 2022 Chevy Colorado is the eighth and final model year for the second-generation pickup, introducing only a few small updates and changes compared to the 2021 model-year vehicle. Now, GM Authority has learned that the Dusk and Midnight Packages for the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 are no longer available to order.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Dusk Special Edition package (RPO code PDE) and 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Midnight Special Edition package (RPO code PDF) will be unavailable to order for the rest of the model year as production of the current-generation pickup winds down. The third-generation Chevy Colorado arrives with the launch of the 2023 model year.
To note, this constraint applies to the ZR2 Dusk Special Edition package and ZR2 Midnight Special Edition package, and does not apply to the Z71 Midnight Edition package, which has a different RPO code.
As for content, the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Dusk Special Edition package includes (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- 17-inch Gloss-Black aluminum wheels (RIF)
- Off-road lights (S3X)
- Off-road sport bar (SCU)
- 17-inch Gloss-Black aluminum spare wheel (S4S)
Meanwhile, the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Midnight Special Edition package includes:
- Black exterior color (GBA)
- 17-inch Gloss-Black aluminum wheels (RIF)
- Off-road lights (S3X)
- Off-road sport bar (SCU)
- 17-inch Gloss-Black aluminum spare wheel (S4S)
The two packages are essentially identical, with the exception of Black paint for the ZR2 Midnight Special Edition package. Both packages were priced at $3,215.
It’s also worth mentioning that the 2022 Chevy Colorado is no longer available with the Off-road lights upgrade (RPO code S3X), or the Off-road Sport bar upgrade (RPO code SBY), both of which are off the list for the rest of the model year. The Off-road lights upgrade was previously optional for Z71 and ZR2 trim levels, and required the Off-road Sport bar. Pricing for the Off-road lights was set at $1,235. The Off-road Sport bar was optional for all trim levels, and cost $1,195.
As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Colorado was previously offered with three engine options, including the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, atmospheric 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, and 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax. Under the skin is the GMT 31XX platform, with production taking place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
