Owners of 2022 and 2023 Cadillac CT5 sedans affected by recent constraints for the heated and ventilated seat features are now eligible for a free dealer retrofit of these features, per a new GM customer satisfaction program. The program covers both the Cadillac CT5 and Cadillac CT5-V.
As GM Authority covered previously, these Cadillac CT5 comfort features were previously under constraint since March 14th production, with the constraints later lifted in May. Notably, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing was not affected by these constraints.
Heated seats (RPO code KA1) are offered on Cadillac CT5 Luxury trims via the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19), while Premium Luxury trims get heated seats with the Platinum Package (RPO code PCJ) and Climate Package (RPO code Y6F), and Sport trims get heated seats with the Platinum Package, Cold Weather Package, and Climate Package. Meanwhile, ventilated seats (RPO code KU9) are available for the Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trims via the Platinum Package and Climate Package, while the Cadillac CT5 Luxury does not offer ventilated seats.
As for the Cadillac CT5-V, heated front seats are only available with the Premium Package or Cold Weather Package, while ventilated seats are only available with the Premium Package.
Customers who purchased a Cadillac CT5 or Cadillac CT5-V affected by the constraints should have been informed at the time of purchase that the related features were missing, and that the features would be retrofitted at no additional cost once parts were made available. Now, GM has issued a new customer satisfaction program to retrofit heated and ventilated seats for affected 2022 through 2023 Cadillac CT5 and Cadillac CT5-V models. Dealers are instructed to replace the front seat heated control module, reprogram the body control module, and for some vehicles, reprogram the HVAC control module.
Critically, some vehicles may also require an additional retrofit of the Left and Right Front Seat Cushion Ventilation Blower in order to restore functionality of the ventilated seat feature. Unfortunately, this is a separate constraint that is not covered by the customer satisfaction program detailed above.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5 is available with a range of different engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine and the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine, while the Cadillac CT5-V is equipped as standard with the twin-turbo 3.0L V6 LGY. Under the skin is the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

The heated seats I got. I didn’t get the heated steering wheel. That was back in March of this year. What’s up with this? I keep getting the same old story and basically lip service. Not a happy customer at this point.
Waiting as well when I purchased my AT4 HD with out heated vented seats or heated wheel I was told end of Q2. That came and went with no update. Repeatedly calling dealer or GM directly resulted in the same lack of commitment on a date.
They do apparently understand the level of frustration their inaction has caused but have no interest or ability to mitigate that frustration.
Hello, Mcfly! Why are you buying a vehicle in this climate knowing full well some features are missing and will be delayed and retro fitted, and then whine and complain about it? Things haven’t changed much let alone for the better, that is on you. It would be nice if it came two months later but trusting a dealer what they told you is on you for what they say. I have no pitty for you and this is in no way GM’s fault when you knew long ago what is going on and what you were getting in for… Supply, manufacturing, employees, all are in short supply, yet people still expect it now.
I ordered my CT-5 Blackwing July 16, 2021. I make contact with my dealer about every other month to hopefully receive an update on delivery, nothing. I did not order the car with any of the options that GM claims to be the cause of delay. Still waiting! I did receive confirmation that my order number is still in the queue 14 months later.
