Cadillac CT4 customers affected by recent constraints for the heated seats and ventilated seats features are now eligible for retrofit of these features under a new GM customer satisfaction program. The new program applies to 2022- through 2023-model-year Cadillac CT4 vehicles.
As GM Authority has covered several times in the past, the global microchip shortage has forced GM to place several popular features under constraint, including the heated and ventilated seats features for the 2022- through 2023-model-year Cadillac CT4. Units of the Cadillac CT4 were under this constraint since March 14th production.
Heated front seats (RPO code KA1) are normally included with the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19) for the Luxury trim, as well as the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F) for the Premium Luxury trim, and either the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19) or Climate Package (RPO code Y6F) for the Sport trim. Ventilated front seats (RPO code KU9) are normally included with the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F) for Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and are not offered for the Cadillac CT4 Luxury trim.
Now, per a new GM customer satisfaction program, units of the Cadillac CT4 affected by this constraint are eligible for a dealer retrofit at no cost. Dealers are instructed to replace the front seat heater control module, reprogram the body control module, and on some vehicles, reprogram the HVAC control module.
Additionally, some vehicles may also require an additional retrofit of the Left and Right Front Seat Cushion Ventilation Blower to restore ventilated seat functionality. To note, this particular customer satisfaction program addresses Cadillac CT4 models affected by a constraint for the front driver and passenger ventilated seats. However, it does not address a separate constraint for the front driver and passenger ventilated seat cushion blower motor.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT4 is equipped with either the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, or the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. Under the body panels is the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
