Spy Shots Show 2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country Interior

GM Authority spies have caught a 2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country prototype testing on public roads, revealing a large portion of the well-equipped truck’s refreshed, technology-focused cabin.

We first snapped photos of the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD’s interior back in June, indicating the refreshed heavy-duty truck would adopt a similar dashboard, console and center infotainment stack design as the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. This latest gallery gives us a much better look at the new dash design and widescreen infotainment display, further confirming our suspicions that the cabin will be nearly identical to its light-duty stablemate. A column shifter is also clearly present in this gallery, answering a question that many Silverado HD owners and fans had been asking online.

These latest photos also mark the first time we’ve seen the interior of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD in the well-equipped High Country trim, which will remain the range-topping model for 2024 and beyond. Some of the High Country-specific details visible on this truck include open-pore wood trim on the dash and doors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and two-tone leather upholstery. The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD that we caught testing back in June was believed to be an LTZ trim level model.

Similar to the refreshed light-duty Silverado 1500, the updated 2024 Silverado HD will continue to offer the old interior layout for lower trims, including WT and Custom, while the new interior will be equipped as standard higher in the trim level lineup, including for LT, LTZ, High Country, and the new-for-2024 Silverado HD ZR2. All trim levels will introduce restyled front and rear ends intended to make the truck look more up-to-date and current, as evidenced by another set of spy shots.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD’s powertrain offerings will also be upgraded for more output, with the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax rumored to produce nearly 1,100 pound-feet of torque and more than 500 horsepower. The naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine will continue unchanged, but is expected to mate to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, rather than the GM 6-speed automatic used in the current model.

GM Authority will continue to report on the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD in the months leading up to its debut. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe for more Chevy Silverado news, Chevy news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

  1. Good, now bring that to the half ton line up, that console shifter is just a silly waste of space. Better yet, put the shifter stalk like the Silverado EV on the half tons.

  2. This really doesn’t look like a change that is similar to the 1/2 tons. More along the lines that they’ve already ncreased the size of the central screen and left the remaining layout as is. Now maybe this is a lower level version and the top trims will be more in line with the 1/2 ton models.

Either way, this looks like a good upgrade.

    1. Open your eyes this is the same as the 1500 refresh.

  3. I wish they would squeeze a little more from the 6.6 gas but lets see how it does with the 10-speed I guess first. I have never driven one but reviews seem a little hit or miss performance wise.

    1. IDK, what performance metric Theo are measuring these things with. It’s a tow/plow motor. It’s inside a skyrig that weights more than 6000 lbs. yes we’re comparing it to the old l96, it’s peppy and fast, but to the half ton? It will feel like a dog. Not to mention the extra friction from the 10” diff ring and fully floating axle.

      1. I look at reviews comparing them to other 3/4 tons, not half tons. I am sure it will get the job done not arguing that. Just discouraging when they release a new motor that does not out perform the other brands from the get go, let alone after the competition has time to retool. I am looking to replace my old Duramax and my options are wide open. Ford 6.2/7.3 and Ram 6.4 are potentially in the mix.

Doesn’t the gas truck have the diesel size 11.5″ ring gear now?

    2. I owned both 2500 Silverado HD gas and diesel.
-Gas engine is smooth with the 6 speed trans. Mileage is 14 city 16 highway. Drives and pulls well.
-Diesel with 10 speed is butter- 14city and 18 highway
Both set ups are great depending on your needs!
Hopefully towing will increase and mileage as well connecting to a 10 speed. Maybe just phasing out the old 6 speed trans. to keep up with the competition. We will have to wait and see….

  4. Is that an auxiliary screen on the left-hand side of the dash? To the left of the leftmost vent. It’s easy to miss. Third shot down, look at the tips of the driver’s left-hand fingers, it’s got an orange reflection on it. Very nice.

    1. That’s not a screen. It’s shiny black paint.

      1. That would be a rather large and pointless panel of shiny plastic for such an opulent interior. There appear to be fingerprints on the lower portion indicating it serves an interactive purpose, similar to the small auxiliary screen on the left of the Escalade’s dash.

SMART UP GM… 🙁

  8. So yeah, basically getting the same interior that the new 2022 refresh of the 1500s have now. The only down size is you’re going to be paying a lot more than what you would have.

  9. I don’t know who thought of putting that chrome angled piece below the infotainment center but when the sun shines on it it’s like a super bright flashlight shining in your eyes. Bad place to put that.
