Here’s How Much The 2023 Corvette Z06 Z07 Performance Package Will Cost

There’s no denying the standard 2023 Corvette Z06 is a hugely impressive performance vehicle, but customers looking to unlock the full potential of the car will have to opt for the available Z07 Performance Package. This equipment group takes the Z06’s performance level “to its zenith,” according to Chevrolet, adding equipment like a full aerodynamics pack, stickier Michelin tires and more powerful brakes.

Considering the high-end content contained in the Z07 Performance Package, it should be no surprise that this is one pricy optional extra. The base price of the package is $8,995, however it also requires customers to select the Carbon Flash painted (RPO code CFZ) or visible carbon fiber (RPO CFV) ground effects packages, as well as either the Carbon Flash painted or visible carbon fiber high wing rear spoiler. The Carbon Flash painted aero kit and wing cost an additional $8,495, while the visible carbon fiber versions of these components together cost $10,495.

RPO Code 1LZ Coupe 1LZ Coupe 2LZ Coupe 2LZ Coupe 3LZ Coupe 3LZ Coupe
MSRP + DFC $106,395 $106,395 $115,595 $115,595 $120,245 $120,245
Z07 Performance Package Z07 $8,995 $8,995 $8,995 $8,995 $8,995 $8,995

Visible carbon fiber ground effects CFV - $0 - $0 - $0
Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber high wing rear spoiler T0F $8,495 - $8,495 - $8,495 -
Visible carbon fiber high wing rear spoiler T0G - $10,495 - $10,495 - $10,495
Gas guzzler tax (projected) $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000
Total $126,885 $125,885 $133,085 $135,085 $137,735 $139,735

As we reported previously, the 2023 Corvette Z06 will also be subject to a $2,600 gas guzzler tax in the United States, however the amount of the tax will climb to $3,000 for vehicles equipped with the Z07 Performance Package. This is because the Z07 Performance Package produces quite a bit of downforce at speed, creating drag and negatively impacting the supercar’s fuel economy. That means we can technically tack another $400 onto the price of the Z07 Performance Package, as there’s no way to get around paying the gas guzzler tax and this $400 premium is specific to Corvette Z06 models units equipped with either one of the carbon fiber ground effects packages.

RPO Code 1LZ Convertible 1LZ Convertible 2LZ Convertible 2LZ Convertible 3LZ Convertible 3LZ Convertible
MSRP + DFC $113,895 $113,895 $122,595 $122,595 $127,245 $127,245

Gas guzzler tax (projected) $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000 $3,000
Total $134,385 $133,385 $140,085 $142,085 $144,735 $146,735

Taking these additional costs into account means the total cost of the Z07 Performance Package with a Carbon Flash painted aero kit is $17,890, while the kit with visible carbon fiber components costs $19,890. In addition to the aero packages, this track-focused equipment group also adds FE7 suspension with specific calibrations for the Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers, along with Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.

There’s one more way to make the Z07 Performance Package even more costly. Vehicles equipped with the Z07 pack can also be fitted with optional Carbon Flash painted or visible carbon fiber wheels, which cost $9,995 and $11,995, respectively. That means the total cost of the package with all visible carbon fiber components, including the optional wheels, is $31,885 – about the same price as a new Chevy Bolt EV!

The 2023 Corvette Z06 will enter production at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant this year. Pricing for the Coupe body style in the entry-level 1LZ trim starts at $106,395, including the mandatory destination freight charge, while pricing for the Convertible in this same base trim starts at $113,895.

  1. Not that bad . Seriously, I paid $6,000 for aZ51 package so I can tolerate this.
And the Gas Guzzler tax, not as bad as I expected either.
Of course, between long wait times, ad of course as everyone here has said: Dealer Markup
I am OUT of this market, and really enjoy my 2021 Z51. A friend decided to stop hunting for a
2019 ZR1, and will not even bother with a Z06.
But will order a Stingray C8 for 2023. We are starting to really appreciate the standard C8.

    1. Corvettes do not guzzle Gas as much as many others, still I am surprised they did not utilize the Hybrid front wheel drive option to give it ultimate launch capabilities.

  2. Good Luck, to those extremally few, true Corvette Enthusiasts who get delivery of a Z06.
Hopefully you are in my local NCCC sanctioned Corvette Club (not profit 501(c)(3) ) and
    I get to see it.

  3. I await a electric version Zo6 is fantastic but I’m sure a Electric version will destroy the current one AKA instant response 😊

    1. Okay let start off with a full charge/tank of gas, run 300 miles and make 10 runs down a drag strip (no recharging or fueling allowed), I guarantee my ICE ZO6 will “Destroy” your sparky version.

      Reply
      1. Well considering 300 miles of range is pretty low, you are asking it to drive 302.5 miles, pretty sure an electric version won’t have a problem doing that. Most of these bigger powerful battery cars have larger batteries with better range too.

On top of that while you are trying to run down to a 1/4 tank for optimal performance they can run what they brung or top off on some electrons and wipe that smug remark out of your mouth.

Please don’t tell use you have an “automatic” C7 Z06 and you call your self “vette daddy”…

      2. In my observation it seems that the Corvettes being taken out of the middle class environment price wise as a whole and the dealer markups are just going to further the problem I was approached by a dealer that wanted to Mark a C8 70th anniversary by 30 grand which means they make about $40,000 profit off of one car and I told them not on my pocket you won’t so maybe my future I will not include a Corvette becoming ridiculous sure good value for the money but also ridiculous for the money at the same time sending out mixed signals with all their holdups and production under runs unable to get a lot of parts apparently and probably an insult to me is a $10,000 rear wing I mean really

    2. How many buyers will actually pay sticker price on their ZO6? With so few being produced I’m sure the dealers will take advantage of marking the price up on those cars.

  4. I know there have been dozens of people complaining about the Z06 price, but look at what you are getting. This vehicle is meant to take down vehicles costing $300-400k (or more). Is it cheap? Certainly not. If you cannot afford to put one in your garage, forget about the Z06 and move on. As for me, I will be adding one to my stable as it is quite the amazing machine with an MSRP of 1/4 of its competitors.

    1. The problem is it’s a Chevrolet and there’s a lack of quality stigma attached to Chevrolet.

      2. You’re right, but haters will ignore the Ferrari full recall for all cars from now back to 2005….

        Reply
        1. A recall is different than a general reputation for unreliability or things just not working well or consistently. Indeed, those types of customer satisfaction issues are almost never the subject of a recall, which are usually technical or safety related.

      3. I’m not hating on Chevrolet. I had multiple corvettes starting with a 1978 Indy Pace car to my present Zo6. What I was trying to covey is when you get up to the $150,000 to $175,000 range (depending on your local and state sales tax) Chevrolet does not pop into my mind as a car one is going to lay down that amount of money to purchase.

        Reply
        1. You’re correct, and while $175k is still cheaper than Ferrari, Porsche, other foreign competitors no one to date has ever paid $130k+ MSRP for a factory-production Corvette. While the quality is getting better it still has a quality stigma attached to it as T.H. mentions above. The question remains how will its resale value hold over time and will it be on par or better than its competitors? GM is making a bold move with high-performance Corvettes trying to compete with the best in the world which I applaud. Time will tell if they will succeed.

          1. Ok, you both have fair points.
I just find it difficult to hear the Porsche and Ferrari guys put down the C8 quality, when both brands have had brutal issues, but the owners seem to accept them without the same disdain. (IMS bearings come to mind)
My C8 HTC is my first American car, and I love it, but yes, I would hesitate paying $100k more for a faster, wider version. Ferrari Roma comes to mind….

  5. Get a C6ZO6 or a C7 GS both with manuals and they will be more enjoyable and engaging

    Reply
    1. I currently own a C7 GS with a manual and it is a blast to drive. Will it be more enjoyable than a C8 Z06? That is 100% subjective. Although I do not like the fact that you can’t get a manual in the C8, a new Z06 will still be added to my garage.

  6. If I’m reading this right, it would mean for combined fuel economy:

Base Z06 – at least 17.5, but less than 18.5 mpg
Z06 w/Z07: at least 16.5, but less than 17.5 mpg

  7. The car as I equipped came way under 150 I consider it a bargain compared to what it’s out there where a Porsche GTR S goes for 230 k and the cheapest cars in this segment are all over 180 if you have a problem with it being a chevy you can always buy a Ford GT for over half a mill
The fact is this car will out perform must of this ultra expensive so called exotics
    I have surprised a few with my $80000 C8

  8. So it looks like a fully loaded Z06 3LZ Convertible with the performance pkg, carbon fiber, and carbon fiber wheels will come in around $160k MSRP plus dealer prep, taxes, etc… You are probably looking at around $170K + or – out the door. I am on the list but was told it probably will be two years until I would get it. There will be price increases and I am sure it will be around $180. By then the Zora should be announced but from the announcement until production you probably looking at 2026 before ordering. By then I anticipate Zora’s base price will be $200+. I now can kick myself in the ass for canceling my order on a fully loaded C8R Convertible which came in at $107K which I could be driving right now. GRRRRRRR!

    1. In my location, sales tax is 10.4%, so the $160k MSRP becomes $176 – then even the most modest market adjustment and it’s over $200K. Worse for the more egregious dealers. Probably some other “fees”, license, extended service plan, etc. on top of that. I already have a ’21 3LT Z51 (and love it) – so at $200K this is getting a little unappealing to me.

  10. Too much chit chat about issues and guessing about things that are 2-3 years out. As Corvette enthusiasts how about a little pressure on GM to step up Vendor Compliance to service production requirements for the average plain ole ZO6 for the majority of buyers.
The 2-3 year wait is ridiculous in expecting your “loyal base” of buyers to wait that long !
I am surprised Mary Berra hasn’t kicked some rear ends to achieve better results from suppliers and production planning ? A real shame !!!
PS. I own a 2019 ZO6 (torch red) and a beautiful looking car. Order to Delivery = 5 weeks

  11. However, what is the price someone is willing to pay? We saw the price breakdown, but that doesn’t include the dealership markup. How much of a markup has everyone heard will be on the Z06? And a memo was sent out to all the dealerships about pricing.

  12. YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT PRICE ALL YOU WANT, BUT GM WILL SELL EVERY ONE,
AND IT WILL DRAW PEOPLE TO GM DEALERS TO SEE IT, AND THAT’S WHAT THE CORVETTE IS FOR.

I agree with the no manual I currently have a C6 Z06 I love interacting with it and to me it’s what driving those cars is all about interaction with the machine I was very disappointed to hear they would not bring out the C8 with a 7-speed at least manual I’m sure it’s doable oh well another turn off especially on the Z06
