The 2023 Chevy Colorado launches a brand-new third generation for the pickup, introducing a long list of changes and upgrades over the previous second-gen model. Now, we’re taking a closer look at all eight of the available 2023 Chevy Colorado paint colors.
Of the eight exterior paint options offered for the 2023 Chevy Colorado, only two are available at no extra charge – Black and Summit White. The other six paint colors, including all the metallic and tintcoat colors, will be available for an extra charge.
The eight exterior paint colors offered for the 2023 Chevy Colorado include (relevant paint code listed in parentheses):
- Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Sand Dune Metallic (GTL)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Glacier Blue Metallic (GLT)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (GCP)
- Black (GBA)
- Summit White (GAZ)
In addition to offering these eight exterior colors, the 2023 Chevy Colorado also features brand-new styling that lends the pickup a more premium, technical appearance than before, with a segmented front fascia, tall, upright stance, and imposing on-road demeanor. The interior of the 2023 Chevy Colorado was also completely overhauled, and features a new look and layout, as well as an 11.3-inch diagonal color infotainment screen and 8-inch diagonal digital color instrument display. Safety technology includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam automatic high-beam assist, all of which are included with the standard Chevy Safety Assist package.
As for the powertrain specs, the 2023 Chevy Colorado is available exclusively with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. The L3B engine is available in three levels of tune, depending on the trim level selected. These include the “base-level” 2.7L Turbo tune (which gets its own RPO code), rated at 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, the 2.7 Turbo Plus tune, rated at 310 horsepower and 390 pound feet of torque, and finally, the 2.7L Turbo High-Output tune, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. All three configurations mate to the new-generation GM eight-speed automatic transmission.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado will kick off January 25th, 2023 at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Is the harvest bronze metallic green in shade. My iPad makes this green in every photo. Like the color but don’t want to make a mistake when it arrives. Did gm have a previous color that would come close that I could compare. Thanks for any help
I believe the Harvest bronze is a metallic brown and from what i see may be similar to the color on the 85 Full size Chev truck. We had 1 in the family and it was 2 tone , was a sharp color and a great truck 4WD and 400CID small block with dual exhaust and fulltime 4 WD !!
I too had made my mind up on a new Colarado , but the base AT4 gets more of what i want so once i see in the flesh will then decide. Lifted, wide stance , HP engine , the Canyon is checking a lot of the right boxes!!
I’ve been wondering the same thing. I definitely LOOKS green to me, but on-line color rendering by some automakers is WAY off. Sand Dune is probably my top choice at this point, but I would honestly take a 23 TrailBoss (or better yet WT w/ TB suspension) in Woodland Green or Doeskin Tan. Along with Tangier and Wheatland, that would make an awesome park service/ construction support truck.
This is exactly one of many reasons I need to see a vehicle in person instead of online when deciding on what to purchase. The exterior and interior color renderings online can be quite different from what they look like in person.
My neighbor has this color and it’s sharp. Sometimes it looks green in the sun, but it’s definitely a darker brown.
Damn, I’m so old that I could remember when paint came with the car/truck without having to pay extra. I did have to pay extra on my 94 Silverado because it was two tone.
It’s volume dependent- on the Silverado, most colors are free, but on the lower volume Sierra, all but 2-3 cost extra.
Another way to gouge the customer and send them running to the competition.
I wonder if the GMC Canyon colors will be the same, or different. I’m starting to lean towards the Canyon to get the higher-rated engine and the 2 in lift – which come standard. If the ZR1 Colorado had those as options I would go that way.
The same colors for the GMC as is usual. Different names, same color.
The Canyon will also come standard with the mandatory On-Star pre-pay. I can’t imagine the ZR2 would have any colors excluded.
I’ve been poking around with the paint codes. It looks like “Radiant Red” is the same as “Volcanic Red Tintcoat” for the upcoming GMC Canyon, Terrain, and Acadia.
I liked the previous red tint coat better, this new one seems dark and dull.
How does more black plastic make the vehicle seem more “technical” and “premium”?
And the ugly black wheels too.
No Crush, Not Interested
Don’t mean to be negative but none of them excite me. I sure hope they don’t adopt these for the Silverado before I get a new one.
When will GM realize that non-metallic sells.
Not me, too dull, why step back in time to old type colors? I have seen some foreign vehicles with non metallic gray, it looks like glossy primer.
Huh? Since when? Metallic is on tons of vehicles and looks much better in the sun. Give me metallic all day long and I am not even old. This flat or dull paint fad needs to die.
Exterior colors are important but other than white or light silver, everything is dark mode. Interiors colors probably black only or dark ash. No sale for me with black only interiors. GM best colors ever was the light blue metallics. Today all manufactures blues are cobalt shade, like the cake mixer.
Will it be available with SuperCruise eventually?
Most dealers have their 2023 Advanced Color and Trim folders but be sure to take it out in the sun, looking at it at my desk it does appear to have a green tint to it.
Why no actual RED color? It’s a Chevrolet truck. That’s like making a Corvette not red. Bring back Victory Red!
So glad to see Glacier Blue Metallic, best blue GM has had in a long long time.
Hope GM decides to have upgraded Trial Boss option as they do on the Silverado LT Trial Boss. The Harvest Bronze Metallic looks like the Green they had on 2018 ZR2. If not an upgraded Trial Boss option , it will be a Canyon AT4 for me.
My 2022 crush Colorado was totaled four months after I got. Ordered a new one in march 2022. Still waiting for the exact truck. Now dealership says crush is not a color for 2023 Colorado. Does this mean I have waited a year for nothing
Yes Linda, Crush is no longer. Crush was also dropped for the Camaro. It’s what I have.
Is the OnStar mandatory pay on the Colorado ? I have no use for it. I have read where GM is talking about adding $1500 to the price. May be a deal breaker. I quit subscribing to OnStar on my other vehicle. Never used it.
Love it, currently looking for one. Love those black wheels !
