GM has started a voluntary customer satisfaction campaign to reimburse certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 buyers that were charged for an accessory fog lamp kit that they never received. Customers involved in this action will be reimbursed by their dealerships via check.
The problem: certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 orders had an accessory fog lamp kit attached to the invoice, but customers did not receive the dealer-installed item. The RPO R3U accessory fog lamp kit is involved in this action, which carries a price of $460 USD, however additional information and photos of this LPO-level accessory are not available online at the moment.
The fix: GM will reimburse owners of affected vehicles the full amount of the accessory kit they were charged for ($460).
Affected vehicles:
- 2022 GMC Sierra 1500
Affected components: accessory front fog lamp kit.
Number of affected vehicles: it’s not clear how many customers were charged for an accessory fog lamp kit that they did not receive.
Owners should: owners of affected vehicles will receive a check totalling $460 from the dealership. Owners will be asked to provide their original owner letter, the vehicle registration and a driver’s license or state ID that matches the registration and owner letter to receive their check. Those owners that are unsure whether or not their vehicle is affected by this Customer Satisfaction Program can reach out to GM directly with any questions or concerns they may have using the Satisfaction Program number and contact information included below. This program will remain in effect until August 31st, 2024, after which customers will not be able to receive a reimbursement check.

They lucked out. If it would have been on the sticker it would have been just $50. Maybe even with a “Includes Later Retrofit” to spice up the deal.
Place 4 orders at the same time for nearly identical AT4 trucks on 3/9/2022.
One for me, my dad, and my 2 brother-in-laws.
All 4 trucks were built the week of 6/20/2022.
Both my brother-in-laws received their trucks 3 weeks ago.
Mine and my dads still have not shipped.
It’s the communication from GM that pisses me off.
I understand there is a wait for a new order, but my dealer still has no idea why they would ship 2 and not the other 2.
There is no ETA for the other 2, but we have VIN numbers for them and they have been invoiced by GM to the dealer.
All these missing parts and lack of communication are what really upset me.
Dad and I ordered our AT4’s back in April. They’ve been built since June as well. Apparently they’re part of the 95,000 trucks that were being held back in July. 20,000 were released last month. Hopefully with them shutting down production, they will get them all pushed out quickly.
I’m in the same boat. My dad, myself, and both my brother-in-laws all ordered nearly identical 1500 AT4 back on March 9 from the same dealer. The trucks were all built the week of 6/20. Both brother-in-laws took delivery at the end of July. Mine and my dad’s truck are still on missing parts hold. None of it makes sense.
It’s probably the area I live in, but I ordered an AT4 1500 in November of 2021. I just picked it up last week. Absolutely love it, but it was a LONG wait of 8 months. I have the standard bed though and those seem much more difficult to get but I needed it for my pickup camper.
Some States charge Sales Tax so that should be re-embersed, too. Did the trucks come with switch and wiring installed from factory or is that dealer installed, too?
It’s his or her thinking that’s the problem even if you were e wealthy and the four of you ordered for trucks it’s your money and nothing wrong with it keep doing you
