General Motors has started a Service Update for certain examples of the 2022 model-year GMC Acadia midsize crossover to address an issue related to the vehicle’s instrument cluster calibration.
The hazards: it’s unclear what problems this calibration error could lead to, but customers will want to ensure they have this service update performed, as the instrument cluster is used to relay ground speed, engine RPM and other critical information to the driver.
The fix: GM service technicians will be instructed to a ‘Configuration and Setup’ procedure to recalibrate the instrument cluster in affected vehicles. This service will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.
Affected components: instrument cluster calibration. This service does not require repair parts, as the work can be completed via software update.
Number of affected vehicles: GM did not say how many vehicles may be affected by this particular issue.
Owners should: GM will notify owners of affected vehicles and instruct them to make an appointment with their dealer. Owners that are unsure whether or not their vehicle is affected by this service bulletin can reach out to GM directly with any questions or concerns they may have using the Service Update number and contact information included below.
