GM Design Team Shows Off 2023 Chevy Colorado Sketches

The 2023 Chevy Colorado made its official debut last month, arriving with a fully redesigned exterior and interior, new technologies and a completely new powertrain lineup, among countless other changes and improvements.
With the debut of the new mid-size truck behind it, the GM Design team has begun to release some of the ideation sketches that it completed while the truck was still in development. The automaker shared several sketches on its official Instagram page, with one (below) showing an early interpretation of the Chevy Colorado with a very large open-mouth grille. This sketch also shows a slightly different daytime running lamp design in which the indicators extend out of the plastic grille frame and intersect with a circular fog lamp. The production truck has a similar circular-shaped vent in this location, but the indicator is integrated into the headlamp and does not intersect with the vent.

The other two sketches (below) appear to have been completed later on in the 2023 Chevy Colorado’s development, as they are much more representative of the production truck that will go on sale in the United States and Canada early next year. The truck in these sketches has a more production-intent headlamp and grille design, although we would have liked to see the grille-mounted fog lamps on the Trail Boss sketch reach production. The side silhouette of the truck in this sketch is very similar to the production model, featuring the same design styling lines and angles, however the side mirrors are slimmer and more modern-looking.

Too bad no Ext. Cab….meh.
Along with no inline 6 diesel or standard box. I think with these offerings it would take the number 1 sales rating. Wake up gm!
The six would be around $55,000 and would be as much as a full size.
Liked the Drawings,,, it is very GM, Hyundai, GWM, Toyota etc. indeed ,, it is what sells in USA & Brasil
What can’t you carry?
Do you remember that video of a black gm truck driving down the road with a mattress under it? (who could forget that?) That poor guy had a 5′ bed on his truck and the mattress would not fit in the box.
They would be happy to share some design sketches of their upcoming, downsized S-10 sized pickup (which maxes out no more than 29k)……………but there are none on the board to share. Cause there is no S-10 sized pickup ideas (which maxes out no more than $29k) on their drawing board or within the board room for our US/Canada market.
I like 2022 body style better.
I definitely prefer the Chevy emblem in the front so make sure the Trail Bosses are equipped accordingly.
C8. r. U can’t carry long items, try lumber. Stop with u can carry everything, that’s bull sh!t
Someone should make the 3rd sketch’s grill as an aftermarket option for those trying to customize/differentiate their truck. If not an option from GM… then from some other aftermarket company selling accessories.
It’s not for everyone, of course… but we know people want options in their truck’s styling. (we won’t get into the options in powertrains… different conversation). 😀
What the heck is that flat part on top of fender well for? Put a running lite on it or remove it please…
I believe that is a blacked-out running light…
Here we go… again. *sigh* Mary is hiking her skirt again… She is such a tease. Just build the thing already…
2nd photo….single cab!!!!!!!! Friggin do it!!!!!!!
