You mean you can’t even give the EV’s away now. That Calif. said no GAS car sold after 2035.. Come on give them to the college kids as part of the pay off. 🤑🤙🏻
And Chevy looses 7K/bolt sold at msrp…… just cut your losses, seriously. Oh, that’s also before the battery recall. The bolt has been GM’s biggest financial mistake ever.
I keep saying this but….GM is selling 6.2 L V8 gas hog Yukons, Escalades, Tahoes/Suburbans and making huge profits off each one. The then promptly lose that money by selling “green” Bolts at a loss.
It makes no sense to me. If they have to sell 316,000 dirty SUVs to be able to lose money on 25,000 “green” Bolts then how have they actually helped the planet.
The Bolts generate huge CAFE and emissions credits that let GM sell trucks and SUVs. As CAFE keeps increasing, credits are going to be worth more and more. Tesla’s profitability is due to them selling credits.
Toyota did this for decades: the credits from the Prius let them postpone fuel-saving technology, like turbos, DI, auto-start stop, for the rest of their cars.
EV’s when produced make as much pollution as an ICE vehicle, maybe more. If California doesn’t build any nuclear plants they won’t have electricity anyway. No water in the Colorado river to produce electricity, none for drinking, none for growing food, they and us will be in a world of hurts soon.
Over 60% of CA energy is produced by Non fossil fuel sources, even during a drought.
Actually, EV’s still produce Less pollution than fossil fueled vehicles even in WV (worst case).
Fossil fueled Vehicles total impact for some reason Never Ever includes total impact from expiration, construction & operation of drilling facility’s, Construction & operation of oil refiners, the transport of oil, & fuel, or the ultimate pollution from every one of the above by accidents, explosions, massive spills, global contamination of air, ground water, surface water, & the world’s oceans. The massive oil profits, from price gouging, enormous tax breaks, & ridiculous government subsidies end up turning the worlds democracies into a cesspool of bloated self-severing morons that sell out their constituents to the highest bidders across party lines.
I will not bother getting into the effects on our health, world climate, & ultimate catastrophic alteration of all life on this planet, because you would rather believe the smoke screen oil producers have been giving us for 30 years with hundreds of millions of dollars of crazy half-baked BS like your very science backed statements. Ther are thousands of studies to support the human sourced effects on every aspect of our living ecosphere, but no let’s ignore the fact that you can power your car for nearly nothing, with a few solar panels, from battery’s that that will likely be reused to power homes & business still after most of are long gone.
I hope they sit on lots for the 10 years the batteries are guaranteed for. The BOLT loses half it’s battery life in the winter. But it will charge faster than the EV Hummer. It is a small piece of cheap crap. They can keep them all, I wouldn’t want one even it was FREE. Just send them ALL to be recycled.
In all the information offered for the low prices and discounts for the ‘22 and ‘23 Chevy Bolt, why is there never any information concerning the Bolts sold at full price and still awaiting the promised replacement batteries. Are we supposed to quietly go away or just wait for our cars to catch fire?
Just bought a 22 Bolt from Advantage Chevy in Bolingbrook. Yes the 6k off was nice hut then the dealer added in a $3000 “market adjustment”.
Only one available in my area and we had to replace a totalled car so no choice but to suck it up and take a 3 grand hit.
Why did you buy a 2022 and pay a market adjustment??? , you just bought a year old car with a mark up , 2023 on on the lots now, I just ordered a premier and got it for sticker , 32,465
There is nothing available right now. I called every dealer in the Midwest. I found one at advantage and another in Davenport Iowa. I used the GM website inventory checker, cars.com ans several other sites. There are many dealers who have 22s that need new batteries and many dealers with 23s coming in but GM is short on parts so they have stopped shipping the ones with missing parts. We were paying $25 day for a rental ($600 insurance limit) so could not wait the 4 to 12 weeks for a new one to come in.
People need to stop buying from dealers that charge dealer markup or market adjustment fees. It took me almost a month but I found a dealer that did not charge me the fee.
I agree 100%. We had no intent to purchase a new vehicle, but unfortunately my wife was in an accident on Aug 2nd and it took the repair shop and State Farm until this past week (25th) to declare our 2019 Volt totaled. I don’ think anyone should be buying a car right now between inflation, interest rates and parts shortages it’s a total mess.
Unfortunately, as I said we had to buy a car and we did not want to go from a hybrid that was giving us 60 miles of electric range (summer) to an Ice vehicle. I also did not feel comfortable gambling on waiting for a 2023 as 10 weeks of renting a car from Hertz would have been $1750 out of pocket.
Hey, as a side note the dealer denied me the promotional 2.9% financing, They claimed you need to have an 800 credit score (mine was 750) Can anyone confirm that an 800 is needed?
That’s why hybrids are the way to go !
My Honda Accord Hybrid averages 50-55 MPG in the nice weather calculated the old fashioned way and the fuel computer is within + or – 1 MPG.
No range anxiety here !
Who wants to tie up $30,000 -$90.000 on a vehicle that you can’t take on a long trip without making a big, time consuming production out of it ?
Picture a wife & kids stuck in a vehicle at multiple charging stations going from Michigan to Florida 😩.
Wouldn’t you want to get there as quickly as possible???
Our 2019 volt gave us 60 to 65 in the summer of all electric range. Plus we had a level 2 charger installed so we could add about 25 miles in an hour. Very sad it was totaled.
If you paid a Market Ajustment , you are a fool , I just ordered a 2023 premier at sticker price 32.645
You obviously did not read the previous comments. I don’t know what market you live in but there is ZERO stock in the midwest.
Secondly, GM is running out of parts so vehicles showing “complete” are not being shipped as they are missing parts.
Fire Sale
I’m sorry but all the negative comments come from people that are out flat ignorant! Like it or not technology advances and we need to adapt and move forward. I would say that most negative comments come from the same people that are still not only in denial but still support the guy that lost the election biggly..
well I do a lot of research and EV’s will take over, and the biggest negative people on this subject are older people , stuck in their ways, have one up the street that swears it will all fail, they just cant imagine such a thing taking over, back in the day when cars first came out the old folks were saying horses are better and this will kill off all the horses, and look around , there are still horses , but they are mostly pleasure things, not work horses,
I would love to buy one. The price is right. It’s just a ugly car. Not going to happen.
I love the look of it
hoping the wheels dont fall off ? lol
