Callaway Launches Refreshed Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra SC520 Supercharger Package

Customers with a need for speed and a refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 or 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 in the driveway can satisfy that go-fast itch with the new SC520 Package upgrade from Callaway.

Based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut, Callaway Cars has been making high-performance GM vehicles and parts for nearly 50 years, and now, the specialist is turning up the wick for refreshed Chevy Silverado 1500 and refreshed GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks equipped with the 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine thanks to this new SC520 Package.

The main party piece is the Gen Three TVS R2650 Supercharger System with associated TripleCooled Intercooling. Callaway says that this blower incorporates an internal bypass mechanism that works to divert airflow under low-load, and thus, enables the supercharged engine to return “practically unchanged” fuel economy figures compared to the naturally aspirated configuration.

Output, however, is up considerably, rising to 520 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 490 pound-feet of torque at 4,600 rpm, as compared to stock performance of 355 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 383 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm.

Complimentary upgrades include a low-restriction stainless-steel exhaust system with dual outlets and quad tips, as well as a high-flow intake, while Callaway’s bespoke CalCal engine calibration keeps it all 50-state emissions legal. The package also comes with aesthetic upgrades like aluminum door sills, key medallions, chrome exterior badging, and authentication plaques. Optional upgrades include 20-inch Callaway wheels, billet pedals, black exhaust tips, and black badging. Critically, the package is covered by a 3-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty, while a 5-year / 60,000-mile powertrain service contract is also offered.

As GM Authority covered previously, Callaway Cars is also offering the SC602 package for refreshed Chevy Silverado and refreshed GMC Sierra models equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87. Pricing for the new option packages starts at $24,995.

  1. A supercharged 5.3 would actually be a great option to add the the full sized trucks and SUVs. Brings HP up nicely without going over the top. And maybe keep EPA numbers high without creating gas guzzler issues at the end of the year.

    I’d guess the Callaway pricing is a bit extreme though. Adding a factory option with the Brembo brakes included for around $7k over the 5.3 could be a compelling option.

    1. Aftermarket supercharger is around $7000.
      Intake, exhuast are at best 1600.
      Add 800 for a tune
      We will let them overcharge for badges and emblems at 1000.
      Installation, another 2000.

      Basically they’re charging double market value.

        1. Any Magnusson supercharger sold comes with a free warranty on the supercharger and powertrain. Stipulations of course, but probably the same as Callaways.

  3. In my dreams! But in reality, I had a HP street tune & amf delete, done on my 6.2. Power was insane, but I dropped 3 mpg, just idling down the street. As fuel prices increased, I couldn’t stand that! I had the Tune, reset to factory specs, but kept the Delete & transmission firm shift settings. It’s very weird, but my original mpg, never returned. It came back up about 1.5 mpg. No one has figured why it would suck more fuel, driving with the lightest touch on the accelerator?

    1. You said it yourself, it’s the amf delete and transmission shift settings. Everything has to go back to original in order for the MPG to get to factory. It took about two months playing around with my 6.2 after someone put a transmission tune in it. I lost about 4 mpg instead of gaining. Update: For those who may have seen my post about my 2015 Silverado Z-71 6.2 that has been at Best Chevrolet in Kenner, La for 17 months now waiting for lifters, they have come in. Now let’s see how long it takes to get the flat spots out of the tires. I am going to make them change all of the fluids for free as well a complete detail.
