Callaway Launches Chevy Tahoe And Suburban, GMC Yukon SC602 Supercharger Package

Full-size SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and GMC Yukon aren’t necessarily known for their straight-line get-up-and-go, but that all changes in a hurry when equipped with the new SC602 Supercharger package from Callaway Cars.

Based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut, Callaway Cars offers a range of impressive go-fast GM machinery that covers The General’s sports cars, trucks, and utility vehicles. Now, Callaway is adding boost to the latest Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and GMC Yukon models equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine.

In stock guise, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 is rated from the factory at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm. However, with the Callaway SC602 package bolted on, the V8 throws down with a heady 602 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 560 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm, a gain of 182 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque.

The Callaway SC602 package includes a Gen Three TVS R2650 supercharger as standard, which incorporates the TripleCooled Intercooling system, as well an internal bypass mechanism that diverts airflow during low load, thus reducing fuel consumption while cruising. The package also incorporates a new high-flow intake system, as well as a low-restriction stainless-steel dual exhaust system with quad tips, while engine management is handled by Callaway’s bespoke CalCal system. Critically, the Callaway SC602 package is 50-state emissions compliant and includes a 3-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty.

Further package highlights include a range of cosmetic enhancements, such as a carbon mid-engine cover, key medallions, aluminum door sills, chrome exterior badging, and the requisite authentication plaques as well.

For those customers that need even more customization, Callaway is also offering options like a billet pedal set, an Alcantara steering wheel horn cover, 20-inch wheels, and black exhaust tips. Callaway Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and GMC Yukon SUVs are available for purchase now. Check with Callaway Cars directly for more information.

  1. Cool. Is this ordered through the dealer (adding more complexity to supply chain) or is it an add on after the fact?

GM can’t even build the Suburban High Country diesel 4×4 we have tried to order from months ago, so we are likely going to get a Lexus LX instead. Kind of annoyed that they would be adding new packages, options when they can’t even deliver a lot of customer orders for regular trucks today.

    1. I am trying to figure out the thought process here… Started looking at a Suburban High Country Diesel 4×4 and will settle for a Lexus LX? Really non of my business, but how did that happen??? I might need a shrink after I hear this answer… (just asking innocently, not trying to be a smartass)

  2. Yawn… How is it that Ford can supercharge their smaller Predator 5.2-liter motor and get much better performance out of it?

    Max boost 12 psi
    Max power @ RPM 760 hp @ 7,300 rpm
    Max torque @ RPM 625 lb-ft @ 5,000 rpm

Why is GM & Callowway holding back? Just throwing a single turbo on the 6.2 L87 should do better than what is being offered here.

Ford offers the supercharger alone for those that buy it after and will not void the Ford engine warranty if installed by a dealer.

People that are performance orientated do not give a crap about bling items like decorated gas & brake pedals or a shiny steering wheel or blacked-out exhaust tips…

  3. Wouldn’t this fit the Escalade? They all have the same power train
