2024 Cadillac XT4 Spy Shots Reveal Grille, Headlamp Design

GM Authority spies have photographed a camouflaged prototype for the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 testing on public roads in Michigan, revealing portions of the updated luxury crossover’s revised exterior styling, as well as its overhauled cabin.

These photos indicate the 2024 Cadillac XT4 will adopt a new front end design in which the headlamps are mounted lower on the fascia, which are joined by a set of vertically-oriented LED daytime running lamps and indicator lights. This new two-tiered lighting setup is joined by a redesigned grille with a squared edge, which looks similar to the current Cadillac XT6 grille, along with a more prominent lower front intake.

Out back, this prototype appears to feature the same taillamps as the current pre-refresh model, but appears to feature a lower-hanging rear bumper cover with a different set of integrated exhaust tips.

The trim level picture here is the Sport, as indicated by gloss black grille, exterior window trim, longitudinal roof rails, and body color door handles. The wheels appear to be a new set, likely 20s, not offered on the current model.

Spy shots of the interior reveal a new curved, dual-display infotainment screen similar to that used on the Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Lyriq. GM is also expected to add Super Cruise to the Cadillac XT4 order books starting in 2024 as its expansion of the technology throughout the Cadillac portfolio continues.

The gasoline-powered Cadillac XT4 will be sold alongside the upcoming XT4-sized Cadillac EV, which GM Authority published spy photos of earlier this month. The introduction of the refreshed XT4 pictured here will ensure the nameplate continues to feel fresh as the next-generation of Cadillac EVs come to market, mainly due to the addition of Super Cruise and other new technology.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 is expected to stick with the same turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine that’s offered in the current model, which is rated at 235 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Production will continue to take place at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.

  4. I’ll wager the ugly lower flat-black plastic becomes shiny but not body-colored. Too bad, but I wouldn’t have one because of the mostly black interior.

    1. A glorified Chevy RS blacked out in shiny black plastic decor !

  5. So, it the “Spot” a new model? haha. Just kidding. I’m sure that was supposed to say Sport.

It looks nice, but with the ugly black plastic all over the bottom and around the wheels, It’s a no. To top it off, I don’t like the 9 speed.

  6. I’m surprised this is happening before an XT5 MCE. Is this planned or will it get one last redesign before going to the ICE grave?

    1. The XT5 had a facelift a year or two ago. They should update the dash (and the XT6’s) at least. If they weren’t so gung ho on EVs, they could put the 2.7T in all three XT-s with the 6 speed transaxle from the XTS V Sport.

      1. That’s true, although that was a pretty light update with nothing more than a new grill insert, wheels, and darkened tail lamps for sport models. Be it through a second MCE or redesign, I think XT5 needs a more substantial change.

        1. Maybe XT5 replacement = Lyriq in the Cadillac hierarchy (though Lyriq is 6″ longer)…unless they come out saying they have a new model that will replace both the XT4 & XT5, then launch 2 new models that are the same size as the XT4 & XT5…lol

  7. Eww. Are they keeping red turn signals? The earlier photos looked like they were going to be amber turns like the Escalade but I guess not.

  8. I think the XT4 will be an exciting refresh inside out and don’t be surprised if the 2.0 gets a little more power like the 1.5 liter engine.
This is the refresh the XT5 should’ve gotten in 2020 or 2021. I heard there will be an all new XT5, we should’ve seen spyshots by now. All we’ve seen are spyshots of a XT4 sized EV. Any news on the new XT5? The XT6 will probably get a similar refresh as the XT4 with maybe an optional turbo V6.

  9. I’m so glad some manufacturers are seeing the light and mounting the headlights lower. Infinity was first, now I see the Hyundai EV SUV has them down. There should be standards so those of us that don’t drive mile high pickups/suvs are blinded at night by oncoming vehicles.
