The 2023 GMC Canyon will introduce a brand-new third generation for the midsize pickup nameplate, ushering in a long list of changes and updates. Now, GM is teasing the new 2023 GMC Canyon with a brief teaser video ahead of the model’s full reveal later this week.
The new 2023 GMC Canyon teaser video is titled “Unveiling Soon,” and is just 8 seconds long. The video features a series of picturesque natural settings, include mountainous woods, a desert, and a lake coastline. The text “Nowhere Is Out There” is seen overlaid across the screen, followed by the text “Find Yours.” The only sound we hear is the wind and some birds.
The next-generation 2023 GMC Canyon is set for a full reveal on Thursday, August 11th at 11 a.m. ET.
Check out the new teaser right here:
One of the most important updates for the third-generation pickup is the introduction of the new 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X, which arrives as an even more-capable off-roader trim level and slots in above the “standard” GMC Canyon AT4 to serve as GMC’s equivalent to the Chevy Colorado ZR2.
Outside, the new Canyon will stand apart from previous generations with revised styling, as previewed in earlier teasers, as well as GM Authority spy photos. Exterior highlights may also include features like the MultiPro tailgate and CornerStep rear bumper.
The cabin inside the 2023 GMC Canyon will be completely overhauled, likely taking its design cues from the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, as well as incorporating new safety tech features.
As for the power spec, the 2023 GMC Canyon will offer a singular powertrain option, specifically the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. Like the new 2023 Chevy Colorado, the L3B in the 2023 GMC Canyon will be available in three states of tune, including 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, and finally, 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. All three tunes will mate with the updated GM 8-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin, the 2023 GMC Canyon will ride on an updated version of the GM GMT 31XX platform, while production will take place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. Production will begin January 25th, 2023, as GM Authority exclusively covered previously.

Hope it has its own Interior Design….the Round Vents are not a GMC thing in my opinion.
Thant is a Chevy thing with the Camaro and Blazer.
too bad the focus on these trucks was off road lifestyle trucks, the Gen 2 were great all round focused vehicles
I wonder how many millions of dollars funded that 15 seconds of nothing that did zero to promote a vehicle?
LOL thats kinda what I was thinking!
Brings to mind the very first Infiniti commercial.
