2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Walkaround: Video

GM pulled the sheets on the 2023 GMC Canyon earlier this month, revealing an all-new, third-generation midsize pickup. Among the long list of updates and upgrades is the launch of the new 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X, which offers a variety of off-road-ready equipment and features. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X with the following walkaround video.

Coming to us straight from GMC, the walkaround video is a little over 5 minutes long, and includes an overview of the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X in terms of the engine, the exterior features, the suspension, the interior, the tech, and more. This particular example is fitted with the Edition 1 package, which adds in underbody cameras, an off-road bumper with a safari bar, a winch, 17-inch beadlock capable wheels, a reconfigurable bed rail system, a performance front skid plate, and Edition 1 badging.

As for what’s under the hood, the 2023 GMC Canyon features the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, which feeds the updated GM 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system, also as standard.

In terms of the exterior, the automaker states that the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X is taller and wider than any other Canyon model ever produced. Relevant specs include 11 inches of ground clearance, as well as 33-inch MT tires, front and rear e-lockers, and Multimatic DSSV shocks, all of which are specifically designed for off-roading activities. There’s also a set of heavy duty off-road skid plates to protect vulnerable components underneath the body.

Inside the all-new cabin, the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X features an exclusive Obsidian Rush with Ceramic White accents colorway, as well as a customizable 11.3-inch diagonal touchscreen and 11-inch diagonal fully digital instrument cluster. The central display pairs well with the underbody cameras to provide the driver with plenty of information when traversing rocky surfaces.

  3. Never understand the small bed area on these trucks. Throw one or two stuff in the back and it’s overloaded.

    1. agreed. design these with 2 doors or at least a extended cab, than they would have a winner. The truck is already small… so what do they do? They make the beds even smaller. Wake up GM, not everyone wants OR needs a 4 door truck.

  4. Looks like a Taco to me, not very unique..
