The 2023 Chevy Traverse adds two new exterior colors to its palette: Sterling Gray Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Here’s our first look at the new Red hue.
Assigned RPO code GNT and touch-up paint code WA-170H, Radiant Red Tintcoat is one of eight exterior colors offered on the full-size crossover, which include:
- Black Cherry Metallic
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Mosaic Black Metallic
- Northsky Blue Metallic
- Summit White
- Silver Sage Metallic
- Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
The Radiant Red Tintcoat color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $495 to the crossover’s price. It is only available on all trim levels except for the base LS trim. In addition, the new color can be combined with all Traverse interior colorways.
For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Traverse:
- Jet Black
- Jet Black with Chai
- Jet Black with Spice Red
- Jet Black with Maple Sugar
- Jet Black with Clove
The 2023 Chevy Traverse goes largely unchanged from the 2022 Traverse, which received a mid-cycle enhancement (refresh). The three-row crossover continues with a single engine – GM’s naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine rated at 310 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm. The atmospheric six engine connects to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, driving either the front wheels or all four via an optional all-wheel-drive system.
The 2023 Traverse continues to ride on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, which is also directly shared with the 2018 and newer, second-generation Buick Enclave. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. Production of the 2023 Chevy Traverse began on June 11th.

The new red looks strangely dull and too dark, it’s definitely not radiant. I liked the old red tint coat much better.
It looks especially bad with the black wheels and accents, that’s one ugly vehicle.
The previous red was much better. This looks dull! They are changing things just for the sake of change and it’s not an improvement!
Why add the chrome molding under fog light area if entire truck is blacked out optioned ? That would be first thing I would have to black out if I was to continue with my 3rd Traverse.
