General Motors has pulled the sheets on the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado, introducing the midsize pickup’s third generation. The 2023 Chevy Colorado ushers in a variety of changes and updates, and now, we’re taking a closer look at the mid-range 2023 Chevy Colorado LT trim level.
Among the changes and updates introduced for the 2023 model year is a revised trim level cadence, with the Colorado Trail Boss joining the lineup as a full trim level (previously, the Chevy Colorado Trail Boss was an package upgrade for LT and Z71 trim levels). As such, the revised cadence is listed from bottom to top as listed from bottom to top as WT (Work Truck), Trail Boss, LT, Z71, and ZR2.
Outside, all 2023 Chevy Colorado trim levels present revised styling with a technical, more-premium appearance, plus an Active Shutter Grille up front and a CornerStep bumper in the rear. Although the base WT is equipped with 17-inch painted Ultra Silver wheels with all-season tires, the new 2023 Chevy Colorado LT upgrades the rollers with 17-inch Aluminum units, also wrapped in all-season tires. Eighteen-inch aluminum wheels are optional.
Further highlight features for the new Chevy Colorado LT include a remote locking and unlocking tailgate, while the black front fascia, door handles, and rear bumper of the WT trim are all body-colored on LT models.
Moving inside, the 2023 Chevy Colorado LT is equipped with the LT Black Interior upholstery, while drivers will enjoy the Premium Wrapped Steering Wheel. There’s also a Power Driver Express-Up/Down Window and Express Down feature for the rest of the windows. Front and Rear Floor mats are standard for the new Chevy Colorado LT. On the tech side, the LT is equipped with the Safety Package, Technology Package, Convenience Package (I, II, and III), and the Advanced Trailering Package, all as available options.
Other options include a Bose Premium stereo and a sunroof, the latter of which is only available on models equipped with four-wheel drive.
Speaking of drive, all 2023 Chevy Colorado trim levels are equipped with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, which is available in three different states of tune, depending on the trim level selected. The new Chevy Colorado LT gets the “base” 2.7L Turbo tune as standard, which will actually get its own RPO code, rated at 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque (max trailering rating of 3,500 pounds), while the mid-range 2.7L Turbo Plus tune is optional, offering up 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque (max trailering rating of 7,700 pounds). The second-generation GM eight-speed automatic transmission provides the cog swaps.
Look for the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado to launch in the first half of the 2023 calendar year, with production set to once again take place at the GM Wentzville plant located in Missouri.
