2023 Chevy Camaro Redline Edition Package Constraint Lifts In October

The various available design packages for the Chevy Camaro were under severe constraints for the 2022 model year due to a supplier issue, including the popular Redline Package. GM Authority has now learned the Redline Edition is set to return to the sports coupe’s order books in greater capacity for the 2023 model year.

Throughout the 2022 model year, the Chevy Camaro Redline Edition was limited to about 20 percent of its usual build rate, with Chevy’s supplier experiencing production setbacks for the components that make up the package. Starting in October, however, this constraint will be lifted and the Redline Edition will return to regular availability on the Chevy Camaro.

As a reminder, the Redline Edition package is a silver, black and red-themed cosmetic add-on that is available on the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS and 2SS trim levels. It costs $2,390 to equip with the non-SS trim levels and $2,140 to equip on the 1SS and 2SS trim levels. It’s available with the Shadow Gray Metallic, Summit White and Black exterior colors and includes the following equipment (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • 20-inch Black-painted aluminum wheels with Red accents (1LT/2LT/3LT/LT1 only, RPO SRI)
  • 20-inch Black-painted aluminum wheels with Red accents (1SS/2SS only, RPO 58E)
  • Black Camaro fender badge with Red outline (RPO CG6)
  • Redline Edition graphics (RPO VUP)
  • Red seat belt color (RPO 3F9
  • Red knee pads (RPO 2F5)

Similar to the Redline Package, the performance-focused SS 1LE package was also under constraint on the 2022 model year Chevy Camaro and will return to the vehicle’s order books in full capacity for the 2023 model year. The SS 1LE Track Package is offered as an option on the 2023 Chevy Camaro 1SS and 2SS trim levels, and was priced at $7,000 on the 2022 Chevy Camaro.

As a reminder, the Chevy Camaro is offered with four engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, and the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. Under the body panels is the GM Alpha platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  1. LOL, all of the red-accented decals and trim is now back in stock. Really, now. An exercise in futility is using the Build Configurator on the Camaro. You then find out that you can have everything you want as long as it follows what the factory wants you to have. Paint colors now severely cut back to a select few. Forget about mixing in some red accent colors on your Blue Camaro. For that, you can have your red accents as long as you axe the Blue and go for some bland silver or white. Go ahead, play with your own Camaro Build Configurator to see just how limited you are in your choices. GM is killing this car by it’s own lack of interest in building the car the way YOU want it.

    1. I agree with Mike, GM should build these Camaros the way the customers wants, and not the other way around.. I love the Camaros look, I have a 2022 Camaro 2 SS with the 1LE package, and in Wild Cherry tent coat beautiful looking car. Automatic, and GM wants to get rid of the wild cherry tin coat in the year 2023, that’s crazy I love that color instead of that radiant red.. so I say to GM build the cars the way customers want it, with all the options it needs to be..

    2. to be honest, I’m okay with it. I would never buy a red/blue/yellow/orange/etc car. I wouldn’t even drive one if I got it for free, I would sell it and buy another car. Black/white/silver/grey Camaros (and just cars in general) also have a higher resale value, if you look on Autotrader the blue/red/yellow Camaros all have the lowest prices. I think this silver/black/red Redline Edition Camaro looks beautiful, if I didn’t already have a ’19 Camaro I would get a Redline Edition. If I’m spending my money on a car it’s going to be black/white/silver/grey, you will never catch me driving a colorful car. But that’s just how I feel, to each his own.
