2023 Chevy Camaro Loses Various Dealer-Installed Options

The 2023 Chevy Camaro will no longer offer several dealer-installed, LPO-level options, GM Authority can confirm. Many of the affected options were made available to order during the 2022 model year.
Some of the more popular dealer-installed equipment items that have been removed from the 2023 Chevy Camaro options list include the Premium carpeted floor mats with Camaro logo (RPO code VYM), the ZL1 1LE SPEC visible carbon fiber spoiler (RPO code 6ZQ), the dark finish tail lamps (RPO code SCY), and the Performance air intake (RVK). It’s not clear exactly why GM has decided to remove these dealer-installed options from the 2023 Chevy Camaro order book, but the decision may be related to the expected discontinuation of the current sixth-generation Chevy Camaro for the 2024 model year.
Check out the full list of LPO-level options dropped for the 2023 Chevy Camaro in the table below:

As GM Authority covered previously, pricing for the 2023 Chevy Camaro starts at $29,695 for 2LT Coupe models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine and six-speed manual transmission, an $800 increase compared to equivalent 2022-model-year vehicles. As it turns out, pricing for the 2023 Chevy Camaro has increased across the board, with the pricing increase varying between $800 and $3,700, depending on the trim level selected.
Additionally, the limited availability for the 2023 Chevy Camaro’s Rear Park Assist feature has been resolved. Per previous GM Authority coverage, the constraint was in place since June, but returned to regular availability late last month.
Beyond the long list of equipment no longer offered, the 2023 Chevy Camaro introduces only minor changes compared to the preceding 2022 model year. Updates include the addition of two new exterior paint colors, specifically Radiant Red and Sharkskin Metallic.
Under the hood, the Chevy Camaro is available with four engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, and finally, the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. Under the skin is the GM Alpha platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Will be looking for another vehicle as GM does not care about this one.
Well, this is a news flash!
We knew back in 2018 that Camaro’s days were numbered when GM moved Camaro-savant Al Oppenheiser from leading Camaro design for 5th and 6th Gens over to EV development. And, you see where GM is now…..phasing out all ICE and going all EV.
If you want a Camaro, I can tell you with complete confidence that you can find many VERY well cared for, low mile Camaros on the used market. EG, my beautiful one-of-a-kind, 2014 NA 475 HP, 2SS Vert has only 18,000 miles, has never been driven in rain and is stored in a temp controlled garage. Better than new.
40% of the list is the deletion of premium carpeted floor mats and packages that include them. It’s hard to sell expensive carpeted floor mats when it already comes with carpeted floor mats standard.
Unless I’m blind the 1SS, 2SS, and the ZL1, no change… The LT1 has a couple missing features but you can still buy them through accessories and could have the dealer or a local performance shop install.
IMO, not a big deal unless you buy below LT1.
You don’t get it. That WHOLE list is deleted.
When GM first discontinued the Camaro, Making it the “sacrificial lamb”, & giving the whole market to ford & Mopar, It marked a down-hill spiral from the mismanagement department. Hard to build trust when they did not have faith in their own products. I really like the new Camaro, However, That being said, GM needs to “keep it’s customer’s in the showroom”,
Instead of looking elsewhere. Mary Barra is the captain of the Titanic, & Needs to go ! Get a “real car person at the helm !
if they keep taking away with no price drop why buy? I still want to see the 2 new colors for 2023 yet to be seen.
Still waiting for my 23 Camaro 1ss 1LE 6 speed manual built 6-27 on hold event code 4D00
Same build date.. same delay.. same car.. 4d00/mp.. trd in a punch bowl.. i do have a vin..0907 last 4
Cash ,my vin. 1105
Same day.. wonder what they ran out of??? my guess now is time!!!
I won’t let a dealership change my oil. Why should I let them install an option I can do myself? For a whole lot less, quicker, and much better quality and attention to detail.
So here’s a thought…I just went on the GM web Build and Price looking for a 2023 Camaro order page and the only car listed so far was a C8. Is it too early to consider ordering or getting a price on a 2023 Camaro?
Jfish, you can go to the dealership and order a 23 they started production June 17 some people have already taken delivery
Ok thanks Michael on the order thing for 2023. One more thing I would like note is that I now own a 2022 ZL1 and wanted red brake calipers like you could order on a 2SS for $395.00. But oh no no you probably had to order the 1LE track pkg, to get them from GM for thousands more. Easy fix, I found a custom car parts and paint business that painted my calipers and got a very classy job…real happy.
As Frank Sinatra sang, ‘And now the end is near’. Sad
“gm” continues the Camaro’s long, slow walk to the execution chamber. It’s quite sad. The car has received zero marketing since 2017 (50th Anniversary), and essentially no updates since 2019 either, outside of trim level reorganization, color changes, etc. Such a shame, that for the second time in the Camaro’s storied history, it gets treated like a red-headed bastard by it’s parent company, before it is quietly euthanized. Will they replace it with an EV sport sedan? Who cares, honestly. EV vehicles may be fast, but they have NO SOUL. Once Camaro is dead, that’s the end of the line, as far as I’m concerned. No EV version of any nameplate will make this car enthusiast’s heart go pitter-patter. That goes for EV Corvettes, EV trucks, or any electric vehicle that Little Ms. Mary wants to slap an “SS” logo on the front fenders.
Couldn’t agree more!
You are not a car enthusiast. You are an internal-combustion engine enthusiast. Be they ICE, hybrid, or battery-electric, real car enthusiasts are enthused by cars, not just by their propulsion systems.
over 5 million camaros have been sold since 1967 with a 7 year hiatus…that averages over 100,000 a year…and since the 2010 camaro entered the market, from 2010 to 2022 they have sold over 800,000 camaro’s….for a 2 door performance car that is pretty good! i’ve owned a 2017 and a 2021 camaro…really love them….if it wasnt for the “fantasy” of the corvette, the camaro would have been the marketable top dog….
Son has a 2017 1LT RS 3.6 A8 (no issues since 2nd flush with new fluid). Bought it new in 2018 when he was jr. in HS. He is now a SR at MS State & has only 22K (really takes care of it. After rebates & discounts (remember those), got $6200 off the $31K sticker out the door. Also got 31 mpg on trip to & from Tupelo. Garnet Red tintcoat with sunroof. He gets compliments on it all the time, most recently tonight from a girl at the Wendy’s. Bad side got a compliment from an older vette driver while getting gas who asked what it was and then said he didn’t know Chevy still made Camaros. Thanks for nothing gm, was sad in’22 and worse today. Did I mention it has 335 net hp? My 70 Chevelle SS396 only had 350 and that was gross hp.
I’m just putting it out there, there is no such thing as an RPO code SCY for the Dark finish tail lamps but there is an RPO code of PCJ for the Dark Tint Rear Lighting Package
The Charger is hideous,Challenger’s interior looks like an 80’s throwback and horrbly designed. The Mustang is jus plain old borring. They just never really change much. There’s nothing exciting about them. The Camaro is a good looking car, drives good with automatic 335 hp in the v6 ,but they have not spent a dime on it in years. It’s like sitting in a coffin.Rear window is pointless, back seats are useless, and the monochromatic black interior is claustophobic.
You round it up to 375 HP for the v6, 300 for the 4 cyl, and drop the extremely low selling v8.Shave 1.5 inches of the top of the doors, reshape the rear small side window so you can actually see out,and put two tone leather ONLY in them. No more cheapass cloth.Lower the dash 2 inches, for less obstruction, and increase the radio size to keep up with rivals.
